February 27Feb 27 "Risk It All" sound unrisky and boring. Haven't heard the rest of the album so far.
February 28Feb 28 Listening to Risk It All and some of these lyrics need naming and shaming:Ain't no mountain you could point to I wouldn't climbI would run through a fire just to be by your sideIf your heart's on the line you could take mineI would swim across the sea just to show youSacrifice my life just to hold youWe already have Grenade, Bruno! On track 3 atm and I can see why IJM was the lead. The first bop!
February 28Feb 28 Enjoyed this on first listen ,do think it should be longer, just clocking over 30 minutes is a bit short for me personally otherwise a solid album, agree on can see why IJM was the lead
February 28Feb 28 I also liked this on first listen. The vocals sounded great throughout and the production was pretty great too. I kinda sensed this wasn’t going to be an album that this site enjoyed much but I can see it doing well. On first listen I’d say Cha Cha Cha has the most take off potential from the album tracks as of yet. Dance With Me is very Die With A Smile too!But yeah overall I was a fan. I’ve always loved Bruno’s voice and that shines all the way through this. Here’s hoping that this gives him another #1 album in the UK come Friday.
March 2Mar 2 Midweeks #2! Gorillaz are pretty much on double the sales so far. Edited March 2Mar 2 by Jordanlee1402
March 3Mar 3 This album is melodically good, it’s always going to be with Bruno because he writes everything like a future classic. But I think there’s always been a very fine line between using older music as an inspiration/style guide and using it to just straight up replicate and add nothing to the formula - I think this album falls into the latter for me.I feel like he’s just in default schmaltzy mode with this. As Scene said, the lyrics for Risk It All are just Grenade reheated. Why You Wanna Fight? is Leave The Door Open reheated. He sounds great and there’s no bad songs on this by any means but there’s a touch too much of “inspiration” in this, which just leaves him sounding like a covers band rather than bringing anything exciting and new to the table, which I think he is capable of as one of the best male vocalists and writers out there.Dance With Me is probably the best song, he vocally really shines on that but I don’t see myself returning to much of this really.
March 6Mar 6 Debuts at #3 in the UK behind Gorillaz #1 and Olivia Dean who was #2!Risk It All entered at #15 today here too. I Just Might climbed to #6. So his solo albums here have either been #1 or #3! Here’s hoping it builds up a decent enough chart run. Doo-Wops & Hooligans is also top 40 again this week too! Edited March 6Mar 6 by Jordanlee1402
March 7Mar 7 I heard this earlier and honestly I think its one of the best albums I have heard of the year so far
Monday at 17:515 days #6 on today’s chart midweek… and ahead of the Gorillaz at this stage! Should hold up decently and could possibly get another week top 5 providing how the non-Harry albums what are new entries hold up through the week! Edited Monday at 18:155 days by Jordanlee1402
Wednesday at 15:343 days Risk It All really reminds me of Labrinth's Jealous, particularly the "it's crazy but it's true, there's nothing I won't do" lines sounding like "It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way" lines.
