Is this the biggest difference in divisions between two teams in the FA Cup where the minnow won? Unless there was a bigger one at some point in the qualifiers or 1st/2nd rounds can’t imagine there’s many other cases.

Yes it is,

The previous difference in divisions was 108 places back in 2007/08 where Chasetown beat Port Vale in an second round replay.

  • One of the biggest shocks ever. Football bloody hell. Well done Macclesfield, 117 places below Crystal Palace in the football pyramid.

  • BBC will be happy with that result.

  • Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of this 'greatest FA Cup shock ever' is that it should be registered by a club which grew out of the ashes of such a famous name in lower league/non-league football.

Only 40 games for United this season! ☹️

Only 40 possible occasions to be disappointed, I call that a win! 🤣

Fifth Round Draw:

Fulham v Southampton

Port Vale or Bristol City v Sunderland

Newcastle v Manchester City

Leeds United v Norwich City

Mansfield Town v Arsenal

Wolves v Liverpool

Wrexham v Chelsea

West Ham v Brentford

Very glad we avoided Mansfield and Wrexham. You’d always take those games at home, but Wrexham get their big glamour tie and Arsenal are away at a team they should beat but I always feel with these games you have way much more to lose than gain.

True but Wolves could be a tricky match, they've already accepted their league fate so can throw all their eggs in a good cup run basket and as we've seen are more than capable of causing the big teams big problems.

Interesting that most of the "bigger" teams were drawn away so this adds to the bananaskinability!
