It’s a masterpiece but I just can’t get into it which I’m gutted about. There’s just way too many spoken parts for me and it’s definitely not mainstream enough for someone like me who adores a Raye bop!

Appreciate it’s an incredible album but I can’t see myself returning to it as an album as a whole as much as that pains me to say I much preferred the debut.

Looks like Where Is My Husband! is gonna get a reset on Friday

It's not quite gained 25% from the same day last week on Spotify (although close). Could go either way.

Songs ruined by the talking: Lifeboat, Goodbye Henry, Click Clack Symphony

Where talking works: The WhatsApp Shakespeare, Winter Woman, Beware.. The South London Lover Boy.

This is the first album to click (clack) for me this year, and the best storytelling album since West End Girl by Lily Allen.

Absolute masterpiece. AOTY.

I'm not that keen on the album as a whole although I appreciate her vision and how well crafted it is.

Saying that I Know You're Hurting and Lifeboat are excellent! Especially the former, it made me cry and really resonated with me

Only listened once i think the singles really stand out she has chosen well!! Many songs sound the same / have the same feel unlike her debut.

Three songs in the Sunday chart update:

#11 Click Clack Symphony.

#16 WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!

#19 I Know You're Hurting.

New performance music video for I Know You’re Hurting!

I've listened and I have thoughts gaga

Firstly, I have to totally commend and appreciate the sheer artistic vision behind the album. I love an album with a story, a concept, an idea that is followed through. The spoken elements, the big band-ness of it all, the live performance nature some of the songs have and the conversational side of it is a cute concept. Does it always work? No - I think some of the tracks really get hindered because they become quite trite in the use of the spoken-word and story telling nature. I did - dare I say it - cringe at some moments throughout. I get her pouring her thoughts out into the album but some of it just seemed so overdone and saccharine, I just couldn't enjoy.

FIN. is probably one of the worst things I have heard - yes it is a celebration of who worked on the project, but this is still a project, an album at the end of the day and so to have to listen to all of that is torture. Include it on the credits of the physical album please! The song triggers me, omg I need to calm down kink It seems like a "really good on paper" idea~ but nah, horrendous. I also hated Beware.. The South London Lover Boy :') that awful opening made me cringe so hard.

That being said, some of the moments of the album blew me away. Click Clack Symphony is out of this world phenomenal and Raye at her best (Escapism vibes!). I Know You're Hurting similarly hit me for 10 - properly floored me with the emotions. There were a few other moments that I really enjoyed.

I feel like taking the best elements of the album and making a shorter EP of sorts? I do think however due to its bold, unapologetic nature and unconventional style it will pick up all the awards and recognition and good for it! While it doesn't always work for me, as I opened this post, I commend her for doing it and sticking with it and being true to her artistry~

This album really has so much to it that I’m still kind of processing it! I will aim to post a review but there’s still so much to unpack and I’m discovering new things on repeated listens!

What I will say is I’m so glad that RAYE is where she is. I have to say I almost underestimated what she was capable of when she was more of a features artist but she’s one hell of a talent and I just wish she was able to do all this sooner (although on the flip side her struggles and what she’s experienced in the industry have given her a fire what may have led to her writing and crafting even better..).

Hoping this does give her that albums #1!
