I know in general im a bg fan of live albums and not everyone is but i do find it odd that Kylies fanbase are big physical fans and snap up everything they can when a new album drops but it never really happens for the live releases, i know her studio albums pick up casual sales that live albums dont but a big difference in studio albums opening on 40k or close to it and live albums struggling to hit 4k.

I do think the sales for Tension Live are slightly suffering from only been available on her own site and not anywhere else.

I didn’t buy it cos it’s only available from the site, the postal fees are way too

Much. It’ll be the only Kylie live album

I haven’t purchased

  • I haven't ordered it tbh. Currently it costs £58.50 (including postage) to buy both the vinyl and CD together, and I can't justify it unfortunately. I don't find a live album to be the most essential

I'm sure it won't sell out at least for a good while as they would have a good idea from pre orders what demand is there but it probably means there is less of a chance they over produced and it might

The shipping is expensive to be fair and is off putting, I wonder if it was available on amazon would it sell there.

Well, it started at 3! Will obviously fall a lot by the end of the week, but hopefully top-10 is possible? Depending on sales, of course.

It won’t be close to Top 10 unfortunately unless it gets a major push of some sort - I think most people that wanted a copy would have ordered it already.

Kylie and her team could have been kinder to the fans with this Live release instead of rinsing them through purchasing on the site as it is a very expensive purchase.

Let's be honest, they know it's the real fans who would be buying this and the same people who threw their full weight behind the full 2 sets of the Tension era including mass purchases of Padam Padam.

I don't find a live album to be the most essential thing to own anyway, so I can live without them! If they sell out then that's ok. If they don't then I'll keep my fingers crossed for them to be in a sale at some point.

Frustrating that they have put some effort into this release in terms of quality and CD book format etc and restricted it to her website - I know love albums are a niche release but surely they could have allowed HMV and Amazon to have at least 1 of the formats.

Ideally there would have been a HMV or Amazon exclusive version to help nab extra sales but im sure there is some logic behind the thinking of having it website only.

I thought with her Amazon deal netting her that long awaited 8th number 1 single that she might have had the album available there.

Sales seem to be really low this week for it to be at #7 today - hoping a Top 20 is now possible!

I think it is, sales last week seemed higher and 4319 was what number 21 sold, Kylie is only 386 sales away from that which hopefully she will reach but i think with sales lower 4k might be enough for top 20 fingers crossed.
