Posted February 24Feb 24 Well… Hello there and welcome to Lys, Lotunia 🪷We are excited to be hosting a completely new spin-off known as Lottery! 🪷Now, you may be wondering how this contest is going to be run and what the idea for the contest is. Underneath I present to you the basics of how this is going to work.Concept:The contest is going to be run as one would have run an edition of Worldvision. Meaning, when we get to the assignment and confirmation part everyone that wishes to participate will chose a number between 1-45. You will at most (if you are an early bird x) get a week to find a song and confirm it.Behind each number there will be one theme/assignment/challenge or whatever you want to call it. These themes that you get to chose from are meant to be a mish-mash of some different spin-offs we have had and some odd curveballs. This means that we will might get a pretty random set of songs in the end and hopefully an interesting result 😮Upcoming Dates:Confirmations and Assignment Thread: Open from 28th of February - 7th of MarchVoting: Open from 8th - 15th of MarchResults: 16th of MarchThe Confirmations and Assignment Thread will open this Saturday evening. Until that time comes, please feel free to post suggestions for themes for this contest here! I am aiming for 45 and I do have some already in mind, but I would like to add any suggestions from you, the participants too, if you have any!(also let me know if you have any questions - I wrote this in a bit of a hurry😅)
February 25Feb 25 Would like to sign up for my first spin-off!New to this, so I imagine once we receive the theme, we can't change it or pick another number? And we cannot reveal the theme we received?
February 25Feb 25 Intrigued, sounds like a great new idea so happy to participate.A few ideas of themes:A song over 10 minutes longA song under 90 seconds longAn instrumentalA chillout songA song from a South American countryA song from a pre-2000 Eurovision NF or related show (e.g. Melodifestivalen, The Great British Song Contest, Sanremo) that didn't winA song about 'the club'A song about food Edited February 25Feb 25 by gooddelta
February 25Feb 25 This looks fun! How inspired/specific do you want us to be with our suggested themes? 🤔
February 25Feb 25 I just have the one suggestion for now. This could be worded better but... 'emotionally troubled confessional female singer-songwriter banging on the piano or guitar' Haha, think artists like Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Alanis Morissette, Joni Mitchell etc etc. I don't think that kinda thing gets entered to the contests a lot and it's a 'genre' I tend to enjoy for some reason.I guess it could be worded 'confessional female singer-songwriter'.

And we cannot reveal the theme we received?Once you have chosen a number and been assigned a theme you can not necessarily change number/theme unless you have made an actual effort with finding an entry for your assigned theme. So yeah, if someone are really struggling I will allow them to chose another number.Theme will be revealed for everyone to see! Once you have posted your chosen number I will quote your post with your assigned theme.12 hours ago, Scene said:This looks fun!How inspired/specific do you want us to be with our suggested themes? 🤔If your suggestions could be its own spin off then you are good to go!ofc if you have something specific you can post that too. gooddelta (and matto's one suggestion) had a few that I think were pretty good at being specific while giving a little wriggle room. Example: "a song about food" instead of "a song about rice".

February 26Feb 26 Great to see this finally run, I've been really wanting to see how it works since Leww suggested it!I think at least a category for a song from each continent (and ideally excluding big markets like US, UK etc.)
February 26Feb 26 Genuinely, there's probably enough unused spin off suggestions in the ideas thread to bulk out the categories in this TV themes Film Soundtrack Musical A song that has someone's name in the title A song that has a colour in the title A song that has numbers in the title A cover version
