#1 with 134k equivalent album units sold in the US.

Madonna earns her 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as her new studio album, CONFESSIONS II, debuts atop the list dated July 18. With the arrival, the Queen of Pop gets her first No. 1 album of the 2020s and becomes the first act with a No. 1 album in the 2020s to have also topped the chart in three other decades.

Further, Madonna becomes only the fourth act to have achieved at least 10 No. 1s each on the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. On the latter, she has 12 leaders.

CONFESSIONS II launches with 134,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending July 9, according to Luminate. That marks the largest week for a dance album this year. It also scores Madonna her best week, by units, since the Billboard 200 transitioned to an equivalent album units-ranked list in December 2014. CONFESSIONS II additionally yields Madonna’s biggest streaming week ever for an album, and her largest pure album sales week in more than a decade.

She may never again achieve the commercial success, streaming numbers or longevity of today’s younger artists with a new album, but it’s safe to say that this album has been an incredible success thanks to its quality, critical acclaim, and chart and streaming achievements—especially for an artist four decades into their career.

As a Madonna fan since the ‘80s, I feel incredibly lucky that she continues to make new music instead of putting her feet up, because she really doesn’t need to do a damn thing.

So happy she got the US #1 album and reached the milestone tenth #1 album there!

She's the only female act to have at least ten #1 singles and albums both here in the UK and in the USA (Taylors the only female to have ten US #1 singles and albums besides Madonna too).

This eras been such a triumph and it goes to show you that regardless of age when the material is actually strong people will support you!

That’s amazing! It’s only the 4th English language album to go to #1 in Spain this year.
