...How do you go about diving into their music? Do you usually dive in all the way and listen to every album, or do you often stop at one or two? Or does it just completely depend?

Are you more likely to start with the debut album and move forward chronologically, or are you likely to listen to the newest album first? Or do you start with the most popular album? I'm curious how people do this!

Perhaps browse some YouTube videos or see if they have been discussed before on BuzzJack. I may just listen to more songs by similar artists on Spotify or ask Spotify to make me a Playlist with music

If I like a particular track, I normally listen to its parent album first.

For me it kinda depends but if it's an artist that seems really interesting to me where I feel like I want to listen to every album (which happens fairly often), ideally I will listen to the debut album first and move up chronologically. Occasionally (especially if there are a load of albums available) I will listen to the newest album first though, and also very occasionally I will start with the album that has the most interesting cover 😆

Also applies of course not just to new discoveries but also artists you were maybe aware of for a long time but never really explored!

Just for fun, some artists who I've been exploring lately (by starting with the first album and moving up) include:

  • Thievery Corporation

  • Stereolab

  • Stina Nordenstam

  • Laura Nyro

  • Linda Perhacs

  • Happy Rhodes

  • Alpha

  • Bedouine

  • Michelle Branch

Start with their new music and latest album then I go right to the start of their discography and go chronically
