I'm not massively fussed on who wins it. Would be happy with Spain as it brings the trophy back to Europe but a back-to-back would also be cool to witness given how long it's been since that last happened. Would also bring Argentina to 4 WCs so only one behind Brazil. Plus we'll be able to say we lost to the eventual champions unlike in 2018 or 2022 (very much clutching there I know).

In the pro/anti Argie debate I guess Brazil is the most populous country in South America so they prob would t want Argentina to win and be closer to their record.

It is more that Argentina have this reputation of being FIFA's favourite team, with enough questionable calls throughout the tournament to question whether they should be here (however much influence FIFA has on the matches, that they are so corrupt means that their favoured teams/money spinners w/ Messi should ideally be dumped out as early as possible), along with this consistent record of coming back to win matches after going behind to teams without as much success recently that makes you want their luck to run out.

Also a clearly dislikeable team given their actions on the pitch and this new Falklands banner thing - I don't expect a punishment for it but there should be one.

It's tongue in cheek, just a light-hearted nod at a perceived massive underdog pulling off 2 impressive performances against both eventual finalists.

Or if anything it shows everyone they're a much better team than most thought!

Saw this going around too and also learned from discussion on it that 1974 doesn't technically count because the team were West German and Helmut Schön, the coach, from his place of birth and national team affiliation in his playing career, he was East German. Also the only tournament where East Germany appeared as it happens.
