Biography

Malcolm Todd's warm songs combine a fluid alternative R&B sound with the emotional outlook of an indie singer/songwriter. Todd began making music at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and released his first EP, Demos Before Prom, in 2022. A second EP, Shower Shoes, followed in 2023, and singles such as "Art House" and especially the viral break-up song "Roommates," garnered attention online. In 2024, he released two more EPs, which were then combined and expanded into the mixtape Sweet Boy. Showcasing his playful and yearning experimental R&B-pop, his official debut album, simply titled Malcolm Todd, landed near the midpoint of the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2025. Early in 2026, "Earrings" from the nearly two-year-old Sweet Boy enjoyed a surge in popularity and took the mixtape onto the Billboard 200. Todd's sophomore album, Do That Again, followed in mid-2026. - Apple Music

Biography

Shakira

Before Shakira took the stage alongside Jennifer Lopez at the 2020 Super Bowl, she told Apple Music that the performance was intended “to celebrate Latin culture and the importance of women in the industry”. It was the realisation of a dream that the singer—born Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1977—has worked toward since she started writing songs at eight and released her debut album, Magia, at 14. Following years of success in the Latin music world, she set her sights on conquering the English-language charts, soliciting the help of Gloria Estefan on her 2001 crossover hit, “Whenever, Wherever”, the lead single from her multiplatinum-selling fifth album, Laundry Service. Combining poetic lyrics with tropical rhythms, pop hooks and influences as diverse as folk and electronic music, she quickly became one of the best-selling Latin American artists in history and a worldwide star. Her 2005 team-up with Wyclef Jean on “Hips Don’t Lie” inspired fans to emulate her dance moves, while 2009’s “She Wolf” became a club hit thanks to its sultry beat and ferocious lyrics. She’s since added to her resume with the 2010 World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, collaborations with Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Rihanna and Pitbull, among others, and the 2016 hit “Chantaje”, with Maluma—all of it confirming she’s truly a global icon whose talents defy boundaries. In 2023, Shakira recaptured the zeitgeist with the acerbic confessionals of “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, alongside superstar producer Bizarrap, which became a global smash and set the stage for her long-awaited comeback album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Her first all-Spanish LP in decades featured a galaxy of stars: reggaetón queen KAROL G for the scorching perreo “TQG”, banda-sinaloense bosses Fuerza Regida for “El Jefe” and cumbia crooners Grupo Frontera on “(Entre Paréntesis)”. - Apple Music

Burna Boy

Nigerian singer Burna Boy opened his 2019 Apple Music Up Next spotlight with a crucial distinction: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” It’s a simple but radical thought: you can listen on your terms, but he doesn’t have to meet you halfway. Born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu in 1991 and raised on the southern coast of Nigeria before moving to London for uni, Burna has become one of the most prominent African pop artists of the 21st century. In the process, he has fused his specific background—a Nigerian man entering adulthood in the United Kingdom—with a global vision that encompasses Afrobeat, dancehall, trap, UK hip-hop and just about everything else that might fit under his diasporic umbrella. The result is an artist who isn’t confined by his identity but doesn’t dilute it either. By the time he received broader recognition through a (conspicuously uncredited) feature on Drake’s 2017 mix More Life, he was already a star in Africa. Two years later came African Giant, featuring collaborators as disparate as Angélique Kidjo, Skrillex, Damian Marley and Future while Burna sang about his experiences in a bright multilingual mélange that displayed great pride in the country of his birth. His newfound international fame only grew with his 2023 Apple Music Live performance, which saw him play songs from across his catalogue at London Stadium. That same year’s 21 Savage collab “Sittin’ on Top of the World” reminded audiences just how well his casually dynamic delivery can slot into 1990s-style rap tropes (among other sounds and eras). No wonder he has become an in-demand voice across genres, providing a fresh point of view on tracks from Sia, Stormzy and Sam Smith. More than just an ambassador for modern globe-trotting sounds, Burna brings his unmistakable personality to everything he does. - Apple Music

Biography

Sienna Spiro delivers dramatic ballads with poise and a rasp that belie her years. Like many aspiring singers, the London native put in work interpreting songs on social media, and unlike most, her work quickly paid off in a sudden burst of success with original material, including the minor 2024 U.K. hit "Maybe" and the debut EP Sink Now, Swim Later. Visitor, her first album, followed in 2026 with the sweeping Top Ten single "Die on This Hill" among its handful of charting previews. - Apple Music
