Launching today, Absolute Radio have opened a voting form for the 'Ultimate 00s Anthem' which the public can vote in. You can choose 3 songs from their list or suggest your own and the full countdown of the Top 150 will start from 28th September. I will try and reveal the results each day they happen but, for now, the vote is open!

My votes have gone to:

Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down

Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control

MGMT - Time To Pretend

Watch Mr Brightside take the crown though 💀

My three are:

Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.

My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade

The White Stripes - Fell in Love With a Girl

with endless commiserations

That list is full of absolute bangers that I love. I could vote for about 20 of these and still be struggling to whittle it down.

I have wrote a note for the lack of Avril Lavigne, fuming. And, Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know.

I stuck with the preset options though -

Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum

Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

Linkin Park - In The End

3 of my 5 favourite songs of all time.

Probably because it’s not a 00s anthem

Something Good Can Work and I Can Talk sneak into the decade but anything after from TDCC is 2010s, even though it was all recorded in 2009.

Hard to whittle down to 3 but gone for..

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

Feeder - Buck Rogers

Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

Voted:

KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See

Kate Nash - Foundations

Florence & The Machine - Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)

Missing:

Evanescence - My Immortal

Chad Kroeger feat. Josey Scott - Hero

Probably to be fair.

Shame tho.

Did you come here to actually vote? Or are you just watching all my posts because you're obsessed with me and wanted to try and prove me wrong on something?

All your choices are wonderful but this is just spectacular. What a fantastic and underrated/under appreciated song

For sure, and I expect a lot of people overlook it due to being by 'the guy from Nickelback'. Although I note they included How You Remind Me on the list.

I was scrolling from the bottom after leaving my rant about Avril Lavigne and that was in 4th place, I had to scroll back down and take it out after I stumbled upon Mardy Bum right at the top.

Shall try and tune into the countdown for this on Monday!
