Posted October 2Oct 2 This film has just come out today, adapted from the 2018 novel by Colleen Hoover. "Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson) is hired to be a ghostwriter for renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway) but her assignment takes a dark turn when she discovers chilling autobiographical notes. As she wrestles with disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity's husband, she soon finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession."I don't wanna say too much about the plot but there are multiple twists that you genuinely don't expect (having not read the book ofc). I didn't really have much to go on going in but I'm sold as soon as I see Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway credited, both were outstanding. This was probably my film of the year so far, Obsession pretty close behind. 10/10 would recommend!!
October 2Oct 2 The book is INCREDIBLE so to say I'm excited for this is an understatement.Glad you enjoyed!

I've heard good things about the book, the film makes me want to go and read it but it probably won't have the same impact now that I know what happens 😅 I hope the film does the book justice for you and others who have read it!
October 2Oct 2 Having read and adored the book a few months ago, I can’t wait to go and see this. The reviews so far however aren’t the greatest, oop!For the book readers, there is a bonus chapter which doesn’t feature in most of the books, which does again contain further twists! (Apparently the film doesn’t include this though, sadly!)
October 2Oct 2 I wouldn't go as far as rating this a 10, but it was far better than I expected. I'm starting to thing the 4/5 I gave it on Letterboxd was low!Parts were predictable, parts were unpredictable, parts were full of suspense, parts made me squeal. I really enjoyed it! I don't get how it only has a 2.8 on Letterboxd

I gave it 3 and a half stars. I enjoyed it, it kept me engaged throughout and it was almost 4 stars from me.
