Yesterday, on Halloween - 31st October - Wham! ‘Last Christmas’ was streamed 656,027 streams on Spotify globally. It had around 797,500 across all versions, of which two others contributed significant streams.

This was way ahead of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ - which had 554,102 streams - but only an extra 8,000 across other versions - so a total of around 562,000 streams - 235,000 less than Wham!!

Obviously, Mariah will have a big push today, but it is interesting to see whether this will be indicative of the Christmas number one race this year.

I never really noticed before that ‘Last Christmas’ had its streams spread more widely than ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You!’

Last Christmas streams much better than Mariah outside of the Holiday streaming period - it often builds a bigger lead in the post-Christmas Day period as the staples slowly melt off the streaming charts

Other than ‘Thriller’ does anyone know if any of the other Halloween songs are on SCR? I guess this would only apply to songs less than three years old that have never been on ACR, or never charted.

both Somebody's Watching Me and Ghostbusters re-entered Audio Streaming last week (#97 & #100 respectively) so they were both on ACR last week - I'd guess based on previous years that provided they increase by 25% or more and would make the top 40 they'll get reset?

Bloody Mary should chart on Friday if the OCC lets it.

What I’d like to ascertain is whether any Halloween songs will be on SCR in the First Look Chart.

I assume that Monday’s Chart Update will be the peak chart for Halloween songs, other than those that end up getting a reset on Friday.
