22 :up: (from 23) Lily Allen - Alfie

Chart Run: 44-29-23-22

The double a-side single 'Alfie/Shame For You' is the fourth and final release from Lily's now double platinum, debut album 'Alright, Still'. Without a doubt, 'Alfie' has always been the most gimmicky track on the album, but none the less, it has been a firm fan favourite from the word go and it's this enthusiasm that forced this double A release. The slow groove and the comedy genius of 'Shame For You', make this an out and out girlie anthem.

track listing

* 1. Shame For You

* 2. Alfie

Kyle Falconer (The singer from The View) has been fined £1,000 for possessing cocaine so it doesn't look like they'll be touring America now. :lol:
I happen to like every song Lily Allen has released as a single so far.
:rofl: wtf is this?!?!?! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
One place from the peak position of her last single, 'Littlest Things'. Methinks she'll beat that this time :lol:

I quite like this in a weird sort of way.

I loved her first two singles but Littlest Things was completely $h!te!!

'Icebox' is disgusting but is out physically 2moro as is 'Alfie' :D

I just think it's really clever backed by the video it's bound to be top 15 next week at least.

21 :ne: Ugly Rumours - War

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2007/02/27/nsong.jpg

Chart Run: 21

An anti-war song that features a Tony Blair lookalike being arrested by his wife Cherie's real-life sister dressed as a policewoman is set to enter the top 10 single charts on the back of recent protests over Iraq. The song has been released by Ugly Rumours, who have used the same name as the prime minister's student band. The cover of Edwin Starr's song War (What Is It Good For?) was promoted at last weekend's anti-war demonstrations. Early sales figures show it could be heading for the top ten this weekend, according to Music Week magazine. In the video for the song, the band's performance on the roof of an apartment block is interrupted by the MP George Galloway and Lauren Booth, a journalist and the sister-in-law of the prime minister. The pair, who are both vocal critics of the Iraq war, are dressed as police officers for the stunt. The song was first released as a download. Ben Grey, who produced the song, told the BBC News website: "Marches and rallies can be dismissed and ignored but a hit record will mean everyone is talking about this issue." Next month will mark the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.

Mr Grey said: "Imagine what a message it would send to the world if this record was number one during that anniversary."

HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said: "This is another example of the far reaching impact that downloads have had on the charts in recent months.

"Whether it's through the influence of social network sites, fan clubs, radio DJs or, as in this case, political coalitions, people now have the means to make a concerted effort to get any song in the charts so long as it's available to buy digitally." - Daily Telegraph
