Embrace's 38-3 climb is the biggest entirely within the top 40. 3 of the top 5 fell victim to the ultra-retarded deletion rule whilst in the top 25 (Gnarls Barkley would fall out next week) - however all 3 returned to the top 40 at the start of 2007. This was the only week between 8/4/07 and 16/9/07 in which neither Crazy nor Hips Don't Lie was in the top 3. #1, #2, #4, #6, and #7 were all non-movers the following week. #16 was in its 2nd of 4 consecutive weeks at that position (it fell to #17 the week afterwards). #25 was unusually physically released on a Tuesday (6/6/06). #34 was the lowest-charting Michael Jackson re-release (highest was #11). #65 was charting on downloads mad eligible by a previous limited physical release - it was a new entry at #69 (downloads ahead of re-issue) the following week before climbing to #18. The battle for #1 was tight - it changed hands no fewer than 3 times during the course of the week, and there were only 186 copies between the top 2 (both selling over 48k). Maneater was the 2nd of 4 consecutive #1s by female artists (the only time this has ever happened). Finally, one could easily be forgiven for confusing the artists at #13 and #37... PS: the album chart was interesting as well: 1 (-) Sandi Thom - Smile ... It Confuses People 2 (-) Feeling - Twelve Stops And Home 3 (-) Ronan Keating - Bring You Home 4 (-) Paul Simon - Surprise 5 (-) Primal Scream - Riot City Blues
June 15, 200718 yr Very interesting chart that saw Nelly get her first UK #1  Funnily enough she wouldn't have been #1 on physicals.
June 15, 200718 yr Very interesting chart. Amazing #1  Quite a few songs performed below my expectations at the time- expected Streets, Sugababes and Duncan James to chart a lot higher and Mariah Carey to at least scrape the top 20.
June 15, 200718 yr What an awesome number 1  Awful was the word which sprung to my mind. However, each to their own.
June 16, 200718 yr Dixie Chicks. :w00t: If thatsong had had the airplay it rightly deserved and could've got - not just a few plays from Radio 2 - that song could've been so big. -_-

June 16, 200718 yr I could be wrong but we don't see that many giant leaps up the chart at the moment.
