Posted June 19, 200718 yr White Stripes album set for chart peak 19 June 2007 - 11:24:45 Source: Music Week XL's The White Stripes’ Icky Thump looks almost certain to debut at the top of the albums charts this weekend, with early retail reports indicating it is outstripping the next best seller, the Warner-handled Traveling Wilburys Collection, by about two to one. Interscope/Poydor artist Enrique Iglesias, meanwhile, is looking good for a top five berth with his latest set, Insomniac, and Calvin Harris is flying the flag for Columbia, with I Created Disco being the only other new release to make it into the midweek sales Top 10. In fact, only two other new releases look set to make it into the Top 40 – Ghosts’ The World Is Outside could make a Top 10 debut for Atlantic as sales pick up, but Justice's album, Cross, which is released by former EMI executive Emmanuel de Buretel’s Because label, will do well to improve on its current position just inside the Top 30. In the singles charts, it appears the public are keeping their hands in their pockets ahead of festival season, with only four new releases looking set to make it into the Top 40. At the top of the chart, it seems likely that Def Jam/Mercury’s Rihanna will retain the number one spot with Umbrella, although Lee Mead’s charity single Any Dream Will Do is making a decent competition of it and is expected to move from its debut position of 18 high into the Top 10 on Sunday. Editors’ Smokers Outside the Hospital Door (Kitchenware/Columbia) is making a similarly impressive sprint up the ladder from last week’s 30 and should make the top five, while on the back of their shows at Wembley Stadium, Muse’s live rendition of Map Of The Problematique is ton course to be the sole new entry in the Top 20. Elsewhere, other Top 40 entries could come from Hoosiers’ with Worried About Ray (Sony BMG) and Ash with Polaris (Infectious/Warner), while speculation about a Spice Girls does not seem to be beenefiting Melanie C’s profile too much as her latest release Carolyna is struggling to break into the singles chart Top 30. ===================================================== Singles 01 Rihanna feat. June 19, 200718 yr I think Lee Mead will be #1 but sales figures won't be anywhere near as high as other talent show winnwers.

June 19, 200718 yr 1. Rihanna 2. Lee Mead 9. Take That 17. Masters At Work 21. Gareth Gates 33. Andrea Corr :( 38. Melanie C :( I think youre about right there for Melanie. I sadly also think Andrea will flop, probably missing Top 40. I think Take That will be no higher than what you have predicted, and that Lee Mead wont invade the top 3.
June 19, 200718 yr I wonder if Kelly Clarkson will go up the chart. Shes doing better on the Itunes chart

June 19, 200718 yr I wonder if Kelly R can remain ahead of Kelly C come Sunday? Her downloads arent as good and neither were her physicals last week, but then it could be that everybody who likes Never Again rushed out to buy it on CD in week one...
