They never really got into doing things like that, they could have done the 5 different covers with them each having their own cover, they never did the full on deluxe re releases either although to be fair this kinda stuff wasnt as big then as it is now.

I don’t think the individual members concept was really a thing for CD albums back then. My earliest memories of it happening are One Direction and The Saturdays in 2011!

With all the multi formatting that goes on these days, it’s kind of crazy to think that just one CD for an album was often considered to be enough. Sound of the Underground*, What Will the Neighbours Say?, Tangled Up and initially Out of Control* were only released on 1 CD. Of course back then it just seemed totally normal. The most they ever did was 3 formats for Ten (standard CD, deluxe CD, box set CD).

* The deluxe of Out of Control was released 5 weeks after the standard! Sound of the Underground was reissued but that was essentially to replace the original version, not to go alongside it as a multi format option.

Didn't JLS do it for their debut? (Still after TU, Ik but earlier than the 2 you mentioned) But perhaps they were for a later album of theirs, Icr.

OMG nearly fifteen years since I opened up my copy of 'Tangled Up' on Christmas day 2007?! :drama: I also got 'Now 68' so a double helping of 'Sexy! No No No...' *.*

I think it's quite possibly my favourite girl-group album 🥰 I still adore the daring electro-pop sounds running through

You’re right! JLS did it in 2009 for their debut and then their next couple of albums. I wonder if they’re the earliest example of doing it?

Spice Girls used the concept but only for their movie’s VHS releases (the tins *.*) and Australian Viva Forever singles though!

If multi formating was a thing when girls aloud were releasing their sales would be so much higher although that can be said for many artists, it is crazy to think how artists sold so big just on 1 cd release only. Those days were great for casual sales when record shops were a big thing, especially at Christmas.
