The one they played on the chart show last Sunday sounds similar - the guns were muffled (and sounded like stamping) and alot of thw words smudged out :(

That's some whack-arse demo version. God knows who put it out. M.I.A. blogged about her hate for it when it first surfaced late last year.

 

Anyway format information for 'Paper Planes' has been announced. Released on CDS and 7". CDS is released with the Diplo Street remix (the best hip-hop mix) and the 7" gets the DFA Remix, very alt-dance and something of a rework. Pleasing they chose the best two remixes to release physically.

Up to #19 in the midweeks...!

Oh yes, and that censored version is just AWFUL. Horridly patronising, the song isn't supposed to be something that's easy to listen to :manson: I sometimes wonder if the t**** who censor songs like this would actually like to see a society that was aware of anything other than what was convenient and comfortable to them -_-

How many different edits are there of this song? I've heard them use the version with the original chorus on radio but still all the references to weed and what not. And there I've heard loads of different edits of the song with the video. Some has the rubbishy sounding guns and others have replaced them with drums.

Don't really like M.I.A., and never seen the fuss about her. But I've noticed 'Paper Planes' being played ALOT on TV as of late, and it's kind of grown on me.

This is brilliant and deserves to be huge. The censored version is c**p though.

I wonder if this will rise any further. Its gone to #18 on itunes now but it may be running out of steam. Still its done pretty well.

On the soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire. May well push it back into the Top40.

 

This song really grates on me now. I can't even listen :( It's such a shame I've gone off it in a big way.

 

I just want some new stuff. Once she gives birth and has some timee off here is hoping she comes back with something just as killer.
