I must be the only one who's buying more year on year! I think I recognise that they're a dying thing nowadays so want to enjoy their continued existence. Most of my reasons for buying are to have a song I really like in full CD quality without having to get a whole album, I'm collecting the releases of a certain artist or I want the B-sides/remixes. That list doesn't include multiple format buys - I usually will get all of the formats available though, e.g. Darren Hayes' last single 'On The Verge Of Something Wonderful', I bought both CDs and the DVD version. The blip in 2003 was largely because it was, in my opinion, a $h!t year for singles.

 

2007 so far:-

 

27 CD singles (3 from eBay)

4 vinyl singles

8 iTunes downloads (Instead of buying a physical equivalent)

 

By this time last year:-

 

33 CD singles (13 from eBay)

10 vinyl singles

11 iTunes downloads (Instead of buying a physical equivalent)

I still buy quite a few! an not embaressed to say so!! about 50+ this year, especialy now HMV have free delivery on them, so you don't have to go all the way out to town to get em!..l.azy I know! :lol: I've got all the number ones from this year (somthin i've been doin for a while)

Zeroooo. They're practically non existant nowadays in the US. I think the only one I ever bought in my entire life was (You Drive Me) Crazy by Britney.

Since I live in the U.S. too I don't really get a chance to buy CD singles. There aren't any stores around here that carry them anymore. The last one just went out of business recently. :( I did manage to import the 2 UK singles for 'I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)' by Rachel Stevens though.

Um still quite a few this year, probably about 50...I still love CD singles and own around 400-500 in total I would have thought

I think I've brought about 8 singles this year. Thats really bad. Last year i probably brought around 30-40 and i think thats my usual number. Though i could be buying more singles towards the end of the year. I'm going out in half an hour to buy Kylie and Darren Hayes so that'll make it to 10 (along with Leona's album)

I've not brought one, and the last one I brought was back in 2005. I can't even remember what it was.

 

As I've said before, why pay up to £4 and risk only liking one song, when you can download that one song for 79p - and since I burn them to CD (as well as stick them on my iPod), there's no risk of me losing them if the hard drive crashes.

Zero.

 

I now only buy downloads singles off of iTunes.

 

Yet I will always buy a physical copy of an album.
