nobody needs to feel guilty about anything, trust me, I don't blame anyone for anything

I'm just sick to death of arguing with people and giving essay length replies on trivial things...I try to defend my opinions and end up looking like some Eurovision obsessed fool who can't bare to be without the songs all the time

You are not the control freak, nobody thinks that.

Trash has gained the control freak backlash in the rules thread.

Never was that directly aimed at you. The 2 contest you have hosted have been excellent, on time and very organised. and element of control freak is needed in BJSC hosting. This contest looks to be the best ever. We have a superb selection of music and the best possible host.

Someone who is a experienced and b passionate.

Being in BJSC and having no passion what so ever or an opinion on anything is pointless and a waste of time.

You are highly passionate about the contest and are a great contributor to this forum. You wouldn't have been made mod in the first place if you weren't

I just don't want people to see me as some sort of ridiculous control freak making rash decisions about things...and you leaving the contest over a rule change that I suggested was definitely not what I wanted to happen :(

oh come on Rich. to my withdrawal can be also added: lack of free time, insainly busy schedual and having also esc coming up and doing reviews and rates as a panelist on various esc forums

so I'm not leaving beacuase I don't agree with the rule that you suggested and a certanly do not see you as a ridiculous control freak

I just to be quite honest, lost intrest in the contest, I came back last edition after I was PM-ed by one member and I was what a heck gonna enter again, but it was not like as it used to be @ the start for me :(

so it's mainly personal decision to withdarw and I'm really sorry if my withdrawal was the thing that make you withdraw too :S :(

you've done A LOT for this game and I still think you should stay.

Don't leave. You're a vital part to this BJSC, and I don't think anyone hates you. Are you going to complete this contest and then leave or what?

This is terrible.. !

And it'll take someone to host it :P Your opinions aren't invalid, these people have just been making their own points! Remember that the vast majority of people haven't been involved in these debates - it's just been a few! You aren't the one being seen as a control freak Rich! :(

yes I know that it's mainly you that people are arguing with/see as the control freak :kink:

but whereas you don't seem to mind, I actually do mind...I don't need to argue every single opinion I have with someone and I'm sick to death of doing it...I know its only a small minority of people each time instrumental in the arguments but with every backlash comment I see, the less and less fun it has gotten. We never used to argue, and if we did people respected others opinions...now we just all think that we are right (me included) and are blind to see or respect anyone else's opinions. I can't fathom how people find it ok to send a well known current UK hit single to the contest, yet a song that crashed out in the 2004 Melodifestivalen semi-final that nobody has ever heard is completely off limits or of less musical value to people than other songs. I was being completely restricted from sending my favourite songs (yes I'm sad, yes the first 6 months of my year are taken up listening to Eurovision and National Final songs :heehee:) to the contest and ending up sending second best entries all the time. I would have loved to have introduced people to songs like Cara Mia or I Remember Love, but if they were to face some huge Eurovision related backlash, then what would the point be -_-

if the songs that I love are banned from the contest, or discriminated against by members who dislike Eurovision, how can I carry on with it!?!

So you're STAYING, Boyan? :o

same to be honest...I'm on holiday this week but from next week I will have to manage a department and will be working 45+ hours a week...I was wondering how I would actually fit hosting XV into my schedule but I was determined to do it somehow. And of course I'm a huge ESC fan too so will be devoting a lot my free time to that...But now I just don't care at all, I don't care about how Pixie does, it's just lost all of its charm for me now...

this is no excuse of course, last year I was perfectly able to finish off my dissertations whilst juggling ESC and BJSC...I just don't find competing all that fun anymore

I wish I hadn't made a point about everybody entering ESC rejects now..I don't want to feel responsible...but I do slightly.

I send love to Rich!

thank you but no I'm leaving now, it's absolutely no fun for me anymore, just stress and arguments and I have enough of that in my real life without them being transferred to something I come to do as escapism

same here actually  I'm trying to fisnish my uni studdies asap (as they should've been done a few months a go allready :kink: ) but as I have a steady job now it's really hard to menage it :(

and Pavel I'll still folow the contest as much as I can just won't participate in it ;)

Don't withdraw from the contest because of the actions of few. Not only are those on the same side of the fence against it, but i highly doubt anyone who has argued with you in the past 2months would want you too leave. You are in the top 3 points wise for a very good reason.

Stop moderating, past the hosting of XV on to someone else, just don't withdraw. The contest wouldn't survive.

This. I don't think leaving is the best plan of action. I may completely disagree with this rule change but I don't think Rich has done anything wrong for sticking up for his opinion, just as I haven't done anything wrong for arguing mine. (thank you, Pavel -_-) We need Rich in this contest. :( It sure would be awkward of me to host XV as I feel it's down to me that Rich doesn't want to host it any more!

Rich, your disagreements with Aaron haven't at all affected your relationship with him on BJ! We've disagreed on things in the past, and argued our points, but it's all friendly - none of it has been personal! There has never been a big falling out, it's just a difference of opinions and attempts to persuade - if it had ever gotten personal, then I would see where you were coming from, but it hasn't! You don't need to leave the contest Rich...resign as moderator if you must, but at least finish this contest until you make a decision as large as this!

Again, someone else is right. I still like Rich a lot and our disagreements haven't been personal, perhaps it was wrong of me to say the moderators in here like to make rash decisions but I didn't mean to be harsh.

I'm still a member of the forum :P

I thought you said that you stay in the contest :P :heehee: My bad

(thank you, Pavel -_-)

I'm sorry. I was just kidding, as always. I Eledan still love Quotosibb and Aaron

Sorry to be a bit of a rain cloud again, but these songs have been banned from I to...XIII (?) why is it only just becoming a big thing?

Well can't you just give up your hosting job and just enter every now and again? :( Surely you have a day off work to listen to the songs and still be a part of the contest...

Don't post in relation to the argument.

And this contest is about discovering new music and introducing others to things you love, it was created in the ESC forum and will always be a ESC releated object, no matter how many object or try to change that. You can't deny it's roots.

And f*** them if they want to cause some ESC releated backlash they are closing thier minds to 1000's of great songs. Hell half the entrants in this contests history probably have Eurovision connections.

A BJSC without Rich is like a teapot without a spout. Pointless.

Sorry to be a bit of a rain cloud again, but these songs have been banned from I to...XIII (?) why is it only just becoming a big thing?
it has been brewing since I, like the ACM
