Posted November 26, 200717 yr Just a thought, how much money will be lost at pubs?. I remember the sun reporting a useless figure on how many "pints were guzzled" during the Paraguay game at last years world cup . Euro 2000 stats in the UK from the press even included barbecue sales increasing, and a man walking up a road with bags of beer and babecue food was filmed on the news!. National Express are also gonna lose loads as they sponsor the team, and also Wembley stadium. Airlines are also gonna suffer. Who else will lose out?. Edited November 26, 200717 yr by Marcus
November 26, 200717 yr The whole economy in general will lose out. But that's what happens when your football team isn't up to scratch! I hope Barwick is sacked soon too.
December 3, 200717 yr The UK economy gains. Money would otherwise be wasted on alcohol, food and travel.

December 3, 200717 yr I do belive that Austirans and Swiss are happy and very sad that england fan are not comming... Yeah they are problematic, but all fans are... But on the other side who spends money like english do??? Beer, and beer and beer and beer... Beer Beer... :hic: :hic: :hic: :hic: :hic: :hic:
December 3, 200717 yr Will make no real difference England not being there, won't affect the economy at all, the viewing figures for non England games in world cup and Euro's are still very high so there will be still lots of people gathered round the tv guzzling beer while watching Holland play Germany

Pubs and clubs are allready suffering due to the smoking ban so this wont help at all. And anyway, a lot people don't go out to Pubs & clubs anymore, the prefer to stay in drinking, so this will not be help at all.
December 4, 200717 yr TV will still be dominated by it though. I for one won't be watching. I'm not interested in how the other countries no that England are out. As for the economy, maybe pubs will lose out but people will spend on other things and the whole family. Pubs aren't the be-all and end-all of society. Edited December 4, 200717 yr by Euro Music
December 4, 200717 yr and shame for England for not wanting to take part in a Home Nations tournament next summer. Obviously the needs of the players wanting a summer holiday must be taking top priority. It would have made up some of the dentage from the failure to qualify with England playing Scotland, Wales, and so on, but no!

The security problems of previous Home Nations tournaments make it non practical to hold them again, there is a history of hooliganism with England v Scotland for instance Plus I want to see Spurs players resting in the summer and keeping fit not tiring themselves out in meaningless matches for England

And  Defoe and Bent rarely play :P and well Robinson just don't go there
