December 6, 200718 yr Hello Loverley People Is there any news on Lee Meads album/single today? Thank you. x Edited December 6, 200718 yr by Lassie
December 6, 200718 yr It's hard to believe that James Blunt is a full-release, when it actually is. Seriously? :o I saw the midweek position and assumed it was a download. Who'd have thought, only the second single from his comeback album, and it's missed the top 75. Well if anyone deserved to be a flash in the pan... If Dannii Minogue can't score herself a top 40 hit even with all the X-Factor publicity, I honestly doubt she'll ever have another hit again.

JB' s single position is even more surprising given the relative poor sales of his second album. He seems to be following in the footsteps of a number of artists who have one big selling album, bugger off to the states to peddle their wares & then when they return their fanbase has all but disappeared. :o Has his second album been released in the US & if so how is it doing? True, he's not sold even 300k in the UK yet has he? Less than a 10th of Back To Bedlam or something similiar. No idea how he's doing in the US, although back last year I remember reading reports that he was finding it tough out there, all they wanted was You're Beautiful, and nobody was really interested in any of his other stuff. So pretty much the same as the rest of the world.
December 6, 200718 yr boring leona! this is going one way to long You know I really have to disagree. Aside from the fact that Bleeding Love IS a great track, I think it's better now that songs are lasting a lot longer in the charts and proving themselves to be genuinely hugely popular and long-lasting (Chasing Cars, Rehab, Patience etc.). Five years ago, it would be a new number one every single week, and 99% of them would be forgettable and be gone within a few months. Not anymore. I would say making number one now means more than it used to. Edited December 6, 200718 yr by Shoat

December 6, 200718 yr Any Duran Duran update pretty please?? I really hope their album will take off. It's damn fine.
December 6, 200718 yr I never thought James Blunt would have the sales success of his last album, that would be hard for any artist to recreate...but didn't expect his sales to drop so much and so quickly. i think it's the curse of the Brits..... new artists pop up have big sales get a Brit and then fade within a year or so....i wonder how James Morrison's next album will fair :P
December 6, 200718 yr Author Hello Loverley People Is there any news on Lee Meads album/single today? Thank you. x Album still top 40, nothing on the single
December 6, 200718 yr Author any news on kylie in singles & albums? thanks Kylie is just outside the top 10 in the singles, but Soulja Boy will push her down tomorrow, or Saturday. Album is still top 5
December 6, 200718 yr Cascada have made a very minor climb after yesterday's HUGE surge...I'm thinking now What Hurts The Most will debut at about No.17 on Sunday and then go up to about No.8 next week... What is with the sudden climb for The Enemy :o

I would say making number one now means more than it used to. Totally agree with that post, here are this years #1s. 1050 27 Jan Mika Grace Kelly 5 1051 03 Mar Kaiser Chiefs Ruby 1 1052 10 Mar Take That Shine 2 1053 24 Mar Sugababes Vs. Girls Aloud Walk This Way 1 1054 31 Mar The Proclaimers featuring Brian Potter & Andy Pipkin (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles 3 1055 21 Apr Timbaland featuring Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake Give It To Me 1 1056 28 Apr Beyoncé & Shakira Beautiful Liar 3 1057 19 May McFly Baby’s Coming Back / Transylvania 1 1058 26 May Rihanna featuring Jay-Z Umbrella 10 1059 04 Aug Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson & DOE The Way I Are 2 1060 18 Aug Robyn with Kleerup With Every Heartbeat 1 1061 25 Aug Kanye West Stronger 2 1062 08 Sep Sean Kingston Beautiful Girls 4 1063 06 Oct Sugababes About You Now 4 1064 03 Nov Leona Lewis Bleeding Love Total of 15 #1s and you have a 10 weeks from Rihanna, on top of that 5 from Mika and 4 from Sean Kingston and Sugababes, plus Leona 6 weeks plus, so you have quite a few acts staying longer at #1 this year, compared to recent years. This is how the 80s looked like practically. One good thing the last 3 months of the year will be British acts

We need to start supporting our British artists instead of filling the pockets of all the US ones who all sound the same anyway.
December 6, 200718 yr Is Ernie K Doe moving up or down as the week progresses? I'd love to see that hit the top 40 since it's not a major release!
December 6, 200718 yr Author Any Duran Duran update pretty please?? I really hope their album will take off. It's damn fine. Their album was top 90 on Tuesday, anything after Tuesday we only have top 40 updates
December 6, 200718 yr Author What is with the sudden climb for The Enemy :o Don't know its physicals have shot up, they must be doing a few signings in their home town of Coventry.
December 6, 200718 yr Can't believe we've only had 5 1 week No.1's this year...shame Robyn didn't get longer at the top :( Only 2 No.1's this year haven't gone silver (200k+), McFly (fan base buy) and Sugababes/Girls Aloud (poor cover version charity single) so it is true that most of this year's No.1's have been hugely popular songs! even in 2000/2001's much higher sales, I'm sure more than 2 of the No.1's missed out on selling 200k for example the A1 singles amongst others
