December 9, 200718 yr Author 22 (from 19) Nickelback - Rockstar [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RR39323.JPG Chart Run: 64-58-45-34-20-21-19-22 [8 wks] Release date: 12-11-2007 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: RR39323 Label: ROADRUNNER Though journalistic shorthand often finds Nickelback dubbed "the Canadian Creed", the band found success on its own terms right from the start with the 2000 debut album THE STATE. It may be true that the band's heavy guitars, pounding drums, and dramatic vocals are in line with the Creed approach, but like that band, Nickelback is equally indebted to the heavy metal and hard rock heroes of the '70s. As with many other 21st century heavy rockers, though, Nickelback fits catchy pop sensibilities into their sonic onslaught, ensuring as enthusiastic a reception from radio as they receive from their rabid fanbase. - HMV Video here: hrcTz5XRtN8 Discussion Thread Here

December 9, 200718 yr Author 21 The Enemy - We'll Live And Die In These Towns [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEA437CD.JPG Chart Run: 21 [1 wk] Release date: 3-12-2007 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: WEA437CD Label: WARNERS 2007 has been an unbelievable year for The Enemy; the boys from Coventry saw their debut album go straight into the UK charts at Number 1 and spawn three Top 20 chart and airplay hits. They also recently won ‘Best New Band’ at the prestigious 2007 Q Awards beating off fierce competition from the likes of The Twang and Pigeon Detectives, sold out three UK tours, and supported some of Rock’s royalty in the form of The Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers and Kasabian to name a few. Therefore what better way to finish off the year than by releasing the title track (and one of the many highlights) from the album 'We’ll Live and Die in These Towns'? - HMV Video here: v6tCaEYnDfs track listing 1. December 9, 200718 yr What I don't understand is why Mariah is probably going to be the highest re-entry but it's not really one of the biggest Christmas hits ever, it didn't even reach #1, it can't be those sofa adverts. Some of the more traditional Christmas songs have already charted lower than this so far.

Also, I remember hearing that Barry Manilow tried to sue the duo for ripping off his tune "Can't Smile Without You" for this Xmas classic.
December 9, 200718 yr GO KATE  Much better than ''Mouthwash''. I hope it can go Top 20 at least when released :D
