December 9, 200718 yr 20 Arctic Monkeys - Teddy Picker [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RUG279CD.JPG Chart Run: 20 [1 wk] Release date: 3-12-2007 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: RUG279CD Label: DOMINO The U.K. music scene is notorious for launching previously unknown bands to the heights of stardom on word-of-mouth gossip and music-press hype alone. Arctic Monkeys took that phenomenon to an entirely new level when they sold 110,000 copies of their 2005 debut LP, WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM, THAT'S WHAT I'M NOT, in the first two days of its release. An undeniably accessible (and bankable) mix of Brit Pop, U.K. punk, and hip-hop swagger has led fans and critics to dub them the next Oasis. - HMV Video here: 2A2XBoxtcUA track listing 1. Teddy Picker 2. Bad Woman 3. Death Ramps 4. Nettles What a shock, this tune is probaly the first tune for them not to reach the "Top 10" for this guys. My guess is that all the hype they got in '05 is starting to go away.
December 9, 200718 yr time for Don't Stop The Music. Although i'm sick of it as its been huge over here for a few months now.
December 9, 200718 yr I guess the hype over the Arctic Monkeys has died down a little. I didn't think this would get top 10, but I thought it would be in the top 15 at least. Its probs done badly because its firstly off a massive selling album and secondly because they can never be arsed to do any tv promo and never turn up to any award ceremonys - i dont know whether its because thats 'not cool' or that they're just arrogant and would rather just do gigs week in week out!
December 9, 200718 yr no, so there you go  Oh. That's funny. What Indie bands DO you like then?

Mixing airtight dance-floor rhythms with smart guitar-driven melodies and a hipster aesthetic, Bloc Party set itself apart from an overcrowded field of often over-hyped British bands, and established itself as a force extending beyond the latest music industry headline. - HMV Video here: WsIMTwVaGyw Discussion Thread Here
December 9, 200718 yr Oh. That's funny. What Indie bands DO you like then? I do hate 95% of it, most of it is awful. Not indie so much, i like some rock bands like Garbage, Matchbox 20, Skunk Anansie. Oh and I like the Bloc Party song atm, usually a rock song per year or something it seems.
