At least looking at certification dates, Baby's 3x platinum certification was 8 November 2019, so it took over 5 years to do 600k, compared to the 2 years and just under 10 months for Toxic. Applying the same rates again would have Toxic overtake in just over 5.5 years.

 

If Baby was only at 2 million in Aug 2022 as LoveMeDown noted, then that would show a big upturn in streams for Baby over the last 2 years, but think it still works out as Toxic gaining more per month. Will take a lot longer for Toxic to overtake though.

The OCC reported Baby at 2 million in August 2022, though that was likely a rounded figure. However, its daily streams on Spotify have doubled over the past year, so a significant increase is a given.

 

Toxic reached 2x Platinum on February 11, 2022, and 3x Platinum on November 29, 2024. That works out to about 4.2K units per week—a big jump from the 2.5-3K units it was averaging just a couple of years ago.

 

I'm especially curious about how close Oops is to 2x Platinum. It was at 737K in May 2020 and climbed to 931K by August 2022, averaging around 1.7K units per week during that period. Based on those numbers, it would be at approximately 1.13 million units atm if weekly average didn't increase at all. However, since its daily streams have also doubled, similar to Baby, it could now be averaging closer to 2.2K units per week. If so, it’s on track to reach 1.2 million any week now.

 

In the next couple of months, she’s coming for at least three new certifications: TSC hitting 2x Platinum, Hold Me Closer reaching Platinum, and Oops reaching 2x Platinum

It was behind 'My Prerogative' in August 2022 when we last got an update from the OCC. I imagine that is still in line for the next Silver certification, followed by 'Boys' (although I suspect we could be waiting a long time for that).
