December 26, 200717 yr Wow! Thats a pretty crazy list actuallly. 18 Jay-Z / Linkin Park - Numb / Encore 4984 16 Killers - Mr Brightside 5145 WTF? Leona, one of the best chart performers is nowhere, and if you do 7*200+199+198 (7 wks #1, and #2 and #3) Then you get only 1797 i think. So she's way off. Probably at about #150 :P Cheers for posting. Where did you get it from? Edited December 26, 200717 yr by Harve
December 26, 200717 yr Ooof :o Say It Right so high  SIR is really high in the YTD as well - considering it 'only' peaked at 10 :o
December 26, 200717 yr SIR is really high in the YTD as well - considering it 'only' peaked at 10 :o A peak of 10 is disgusting really -_- She so should have released it physically :( Number 1 me thinks.
December 26, 200717 yr A peak of 10 is disgusting really -_- She so should have released it physically :( Number 1 me thinks. Almost certain Top 3 if it had been :(

I've also done the same calculation for just the top 75, but either way, the method favours singles that debut earlier in the year - that's inevitable.

December 27, 200717 yr Cheers for posting that second chart. Snow Patrol didn't do that well then, but then again most of the year it would only pick up about 15 points per week if its average position was about #60
December 27, 200717 yr Very interesting. I wonder what this chart would look like, if all the chart positions say in the top 20 for each week, 1 pt for #1 and 20 pts for #20 for each song were toted up and then divided by its total number of weeks inside the top 75 with the lowest scoring ending up on top? And no, I don't want to do that sort of calculation  It's all very interesting all the same, thanks.
December 27, 200717 yr Very weird chart! Now that downloads are counted the big long runners are really favoured on this chart. :o Weird seeing The Gossip ahead of Rihanna, Timbaland etc.

And no, I don't want to do that sort of calculation  FYI, I've now set up my spreadsheet so I can very easily calculate points totals for the top xxx positions, with xxx being whatever I want. :) So, using just the top 40, we get : 1 Rihanna - Umbrella 700 2 Timbaland - Way I Are 639 3 Fray - How To Save A Life 629 4 Mika - Grace Kelly 588 5 Beyonce & Shakira - Beautiful Liar 586 6 Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry 557 7 Plain White Ts - Hey There Delilah 535 8 Gwen Stefani - Sweet Escape 526 9 Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby 491 10 Timbaland ft Nelly Furtado - Give It To Me 490 11 Kate Nash - Foundations 482 12 50 Cent - Ayo Technology 481 13 Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know 460 14 Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse - Valerie 453 15 Sugababes - About You Now 440 16 Gym Class Heroes - Cupid's Chokehold 438 17 Nelly Furtado - Say It Right 413 18 Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend 411 19 Hoosiers - Worried About Ray 401 20 Kanye West - Stronger 396 Edited December 27, 200717 yr by vidcapper
December 28, 200717 yr Author Wow- Nelly did well with SIR! Indeed, proving what I've said all along - it should have been released on CD!
December 28, 200717 yr Hah imagine where McFly would be. Their first one would mean 1-20-39-out (i assume that means out of top 75). That would be 75 + 55 + 36 which makes 166 off the top of my head. I wonder what position that would be in? And in the top 200 that would be even worse
December 28, 200717 yr Indeed, proving what I've said all along - it should have been released on CD! To be honest I don't think it'd have made that much of a difference. It was a 4th single and they do f*** all on CD, as well as a lot of third singles. It may have got to number 8 and added about 10-15k to her total of which about half can probably be discounted as people who'd usually buy a cd would've downloaded it instead...
December 28, 200717 yr Downloads were a lot less then and physical jumps were stronger. I know it was February but you could expect a jump of 11-2/1 would be standard. Now in October we had Britney go 3-6 on physicals, Chris Brown 40-40 on physicals, Ernie K Doe 44-43 on physicals, Freemasons 8-8 on physicals and Andy Williams 25-21 on physicals. It was only this summer when i was surprised when Groove Armarda went 13-8 on physicals and now thats pretty standard. In october 2006 Fedde Le Grande was outside top 75 on dl's and then jumped to no.1 In summer 2006 Cascada jumped 41-2. I think jumps of 35-1 like the sugababes did are going to be increasingly rare. December 28, 200717 yr Of those 5 examples, 1 was limited and only 12", 2 were incredibly badly stocked and the other two still had a large increase in sales. Britney went 3-5, too.. And those climbs are due to the download only being released right at the end of the week. Take That recently did the same and jumped from the 40s to 2. Edited December 28, 200717 yr by RabbitFurCoat
