Posted December 31, 200717 yr I think this is the right forum to ask this, well it's the place where people are more likely to know. But why have they completely suspended selecting videos? The Box used to be ace in 2004/5 when they just used to play selected videos non-stop, but now, The Hits especially, just plays random countdowns from 1987 to 2007 all the time. :manson: And it's impossible to see what the've added to their "playlist", now that they've even deleted it from their TV teletext and websites. I thought it might've been because of the phone in scandals earlier this year, but they still have those awful 'passion predictor' and 'karma sutra' things going on 24/7. :manson:
December 31, 200717 yr I don't really mind, i wouldn't phone in to select a song anyway. I sometimes change channels if a really awful song comes on. Bubble Hits seems to never play a lot of bad music, except for Westlife, but thats understandable since they are both irish

I've still got when i taped Steps-Stomp and It's the Way You Make Me Feel from the Box and the numbers came up for the song 5 times throughout the song was played and there was up to 25 numbers that came up throughout the song. Bring back those days! I hate those passion things though - and their not real. They're on a loop cos i've seen the same names in sequence came up. For example it would be Dave+Linda and then the next one would be Tanya+Tom. So they're ona loop, i doubt anyone actually does them
December 31, 200717 yr I think having music vids available to watch on youtube has pretty much eradicated the need for selecting videos on TV, though I do prefer to see them full-size, and in high-quality.

December 31, 200717 yr I think since you can download singles for 79p now, the trend for selecting videos (and having to wait hours for them to be shown) for £1 has declined.

December 31, 200717 yr I don't even watch them though i just listen to them sometimes. I hope thats legal i feel kinda guilty that if it wasn't for a songs high airplay i would buy the song Edited December 31, 200717 yr by Harve
December 31, 200717 yr Yeah it's pretty annoying now. All they have is these stupid games and things like the best of whatever year. The Box just seems to rundown the UK charts all the time. I know that Fizz still does music requests (and it actually plays them because I requested a song once) but I think that's about the only one. :( Also is the 'Box Breakers' thing now compiled by themselves since they stopped people requesting?
December 31, 200717 yr I was watching The UK official top 100 earlier gosh that mason video is hot i missed 70 and 86-100

January 1, 200817 yr Yeah, along with others, i've mentioned in the past Youtube for the extinction of these 'music' video channels - POP videos are after all just that, generally not fully packed with $$$$ computerized SFX that look good on the big screen (eg $h!t (imo ) like Superman Returns if purely eye candy with no plot or acting ability floats your boat) perhaps some people aren't that bothered about quality on Youtube as opposed to the range of choice and ease of accessability of that range, it gives - these now archronistic pop vid channels just can't compete with that sort of SLEDGE HAMMER appeal imo. The astute suggestion of the request cost of these channels compared to the actual price of POP video purchase now must also be a resounding death knell for these channels.
