Ok so she's selling out by working with Justin and Timbers but shes Madonna...she's gonna be massive regardless!

Her whole career is based on selling out, I don't see how this is any different. The only difference is instead of follwing a trend which has been on the underground she's clinging to the tried and tested timbaland formula

It will be interesting to see how Will Young fairs on the comeback trail. He won't have Xmas sales to help him out for his sake I hope he makes full use of Mother's Day because he will need it.

You really do need to seek professional help love...your obsession with Will Young is becoming quite scary

26 posts and everyone about Will

I see my prediction to you this morning was right Banyellowm+m's when I saw the obsessive was lurking. So predictable it's laughable.

Pity the acts he likes are so bloody boring he can't conjure up a single post about them. :P

Edited by truly talented

It doesn't mean I don't like anybody else I just don't like showing my weakness, I know how Will fans operate. :w00t:

And for you 4,387 posts don't you have a life :P I just thought I'd add him to the list seeing as the first poster didn't think his comeback was worth mentioning. Thinking about it maybe they got it right in the first place, Will isn't worth mentioning!

27 posts and everyone about Will :heehee:

if you reach 4000 posts i bet i can predict who they are all about :kink:

I want Green Days next album to flop as since they went mainstream with American Idiot they've totally sold out.
I think the two biggest sellers of the year will be Dido and Coldplay but not sure in which order. The Feeling will sell much better than Kooks I think. According to Play.Com Robbie releases Let's Swing Again on Feb 28th. Not sure if that'll be as huge as his first Swing album.

I've no idea why everyone is going on about Madonna so called selling out? :/

Have any of you even heard "Bedtime Stories"? Its quite an Rnb influenced album tbh so its hardly like she is just coming out of the blue with it all.

Granted she is jumping on the bandwagon a little bit, but she is Madonna for crying out louudddddd. She is/always will be bigger than Timbaland + Timberlake, so they should really appreciate the fact she wants to work with them!

Kudos to her i say. At least she doesnt stick to the same formula with each album, every single one is different.

Anyway flops i think will be: Jennifer Lopez, Ashlee Simpson, The Feeling and The Kooks.

I think Madonna's new album will sell a million at least. Agree about Jennifer and Ashlee and Kooks to some extent but think The Feeling's second album will be big. Not as big as their first though.

Thank you for mentioning Bedtime Stories! That was a really good record and she worked with some of the top rnb producers of that time and managed to sell 7 million copies of the album and get a Grammy nomination for 'Best Pop!' This new record as mentioned by Timbers is still gonna sound like a Madonna record; i doubt very much shes trying to be Mariah Carey, that just aint our Madge :)

And how the hell is she going down hill? Confessions broke records worldwide, #1 in 29 countries and on MTV's TRL, both her videos for Hung Up and Sorry were #1 ?? She still has appeal!

I'd like to see Janet make a 'decent' comeback this year. She has the ability, don't see why Damita Joe flopped, i personally loved that album!

Yeah Janet was really underated last year. Oh i mean 2006. Call On Me and So Excited were very different but i loved them both the same and deserved more.

As much as i love Janet, she really is going to flop hard. At least in the UK anyway. I love her new single but she really is past it sadly :(

She really needs to change direction majorly if she wants any form of success. Her last 2/3 albums have just followed the same formula of songs being about Sex :(...

I expect this one to follow suit after hearing "Feedback". Bring back the legendary "Rhythm Nation" + "Velvet Rope" era and she would do just fine.

I liked both songs too, but they really were the worst two on her last album :/ Whoever made those single choices really do need looking attt.

Anyway, i fear Mariah's comeback might be $h!t :( I just have a feeling, hopefully i'm proven wrong though.

Dido will have to do tons of promo this time around if she doesn't she will under sell like blunt, mariah carey will do ok here but massive in the US all she needs is another WBT out of the bag. i think madonna will do well i love "4 minutes to save the world". but it sounds like a timbaland track featuring justin and madonna not a madonna track at all. she is definately courting the urban pop market and with timbaland and justin she can't fail. she wants to make sure US radio plays her and they will love 4 minutes! ashlee simpson and janet flopping

Why should he make full use of Mothers Day? I think Will's days of being pressured to sell bucket loads, are not that important to him or his management anymore. I'm sure he's more than happy doing what he's doing now and having a life, of course he'll have to sell enough to keep his record label happy but I can't see any reason why he shouldn't do that. Now why don't you swallow some sugar and stop being so bitter and worrying about someone you don't even like? :D

* I don't think Dido and Madonna will have any trouble selling, I think both of them will be big sellers.

Yeah, as long as an album sells enough copies to keep the label happy, that's all that matters.

Same with Feeder, they've broken into the mainstream (only with lower record sales than Will), and made a lot of money for themselves and the label. This year I think it's more of a time for them to sit back, enjoy fatherhood and enjoy writing and performing music live with no worries about charts and record sales, but also keep Mr Echo Label/EMI or Mr Pinnacle happy by selling amounts what is aimed and expected for by the label :).

I'm looking forward to it already :), and the album is going to be brilliant, loads of electric strings on it too.

I think Jennifer Lopez has already flopped with "Brave" really. Unless "Hold It, Don't Drop It" picks up her album sales, which I really doubt.

Yeah it's hardly being a genius calling Jennifer a flop in 2008. She's probably the biggest flop of 2007 already worldwide, having sold around 500,000 copies. Even her Spanish album did better in the US and worldwide =/

Her spanish music is better than hers english :P

I think that Mariah will flop, not sure why tbh, but i think so. :(

I say, go Ana :cheer:

I think the Madonna album will do well in America, but not so well here - she missed the boat with Timbaland... I think 2007 was his year.

Also, The Feeling album doesn't sound like a departure at all - the single's crud... so I don't think they'll have much success with this new one.

The Kooks I've never understood the appeal of... so I think their curious brand of sup-pub rock will hopefully sink like a stone this year.

Dido..... hmm.... she does have her fans, but unless she's managed to start singing in tune, let's hope she doesn't have any more big success this year.
