January 1, 200817 yr I think Ashlee Simpson will be that person this year. Outta My Head should be massive! :D She won't be big this year, she has no credibility. At least with Rihanna & Nelly, they'd already had a bunch of hits.

January 1, 200817 yr She won't be big this year, she has no credibility. At least with Rihanna & Nelly, they'd already had a bunch of hits. LOL I still think she has the potential to be big :P If she has more songs sounding like ''Outta My Head'' then she could quite easily do it.
January 2, 200817 yr I don't think Ashlee Simpson will ever be big. She's seen as a joke like Jessica/Mandy Moore/Hilary Duff et al and no matter what she releases or how good it is she will flop imo. I do like some of her songs btw. :P
January 2, 200817 yr This thread isn't more than a place for us all to discuss who we dislike musically and therefore hope flops is it not? Well you can't judge til they release lead single/album so no-one can an opinion yet really haha In the short term Jennifer Lopez springs to mind...
January 2, 200817 yr Anastacia I'm not sure about but I definitely don't want her to flop! Dido-someone else I don't want to flop but she might because of the trend with katie melua/norah jones last year. i'm not sure anyone's interested anymore. the feeling and the kooks will produce brilliant second albums that either equal or aurpass their debuts in quality but will flop awfully just like everything in 2007 did.
January 2, 200817 yr I'm going to be incredibly boring & obvious, but you can't tell who is going to do well or who is going to flop until you've heard their new (2008) material. I.E. In 2007 who would have thought Kylie, Spice Girls & Kelly Clarkson would have done so badly, whilst Rihanna would do so well until you heard their new material.

I kinda agree about Kylie to an extent. Yes she hasnt done very well in the rest of Europe but she still has a platinum album in the UK after just 1 single and 2hearts has been one of her most consistant chart runs since her PWL days. So not that bad. I def dont think its flopping over here but I do think its under-performing
January 2, 200817 yr I think The Feeling will sell very well but The Kooks will flop in relative terms - one top 10 single and a top 3 album then little else.
January 2, 200817 yr The Kooks album will reach number one, but will sell poorly in comparison to the debut, and therefore be branded a flop. Edited January 2, 200817 yr by Marcus
January 2, 200817 yr Black Eyed Peas, Fergie (too soon since Big Girls Don't Cry), Pussycat Dolls, Cassie, Nicole Sczeringr, Mary J Blige, Kooks, Gnarls Barkley, Alesha, The Streets
January 2, 200817 yr Mary J. Blige hasn't really had any real success in the UK for any of her albums to be branded a "flop" IMO. I expect it will sell like all her others. ^_^ Plus it's a good album IMO.
January 2, 200817 yr I'm going to be incredibly boring & obvious, but you can't tell who is going to do well or who is going to flop until you've heard their new (2008) material. I agree with this to an extent, but does anybody seriously believe U2 and Coldplay will flop? Of the others, I'm just going to guess; Green Day, Dido and Madonna will sell although not as much as with their previous albums. The Kooks will have second-album syndrome as has hit all indie-pop acts in the past year. The Feeling will have moderate success; top 5 album and top 10 single. Mariah and Anastacia are the difficult ones; with these I think it's all going to hinge on their lead singles. Mariah will sell worldwide of course, but the UK have always been a bit more fickle where she's concerned.

January 2, 200817 yr Dido won't, its been a long time since she had an album out, fans are gearing for it, and so am I I am too. From what I've heard it's not mainstream whatsoever, which sounds interesting. But I just thought her fanbase may have moved on, that's all.
January 2, 200817 yr Well, it depends where it charts in comparison to her others :). Well i don't think Just Fine will get in the top 10 unfortunately
January 2, 200817 yr With big albums due for release this year from artists such as U2, Coldplay, Anastacia, The Kooks, Oasis, Green Day, Dido, Mariah Carey, Madonna etc., which of these [if any] do you think shall flop this year my predictions: potential by great single choices Coldplay: 8,000,000 Madonna: 8,000,000 (because of timba/Timberlake) Mariah: 7,500,000 (if shes lucky more) Green Day: 7,000,000 U2: ~6,000,000 Robbie: 5,500,000 (1,000,000 in Germany as always, and hopefully 2mill in UK again) Dido: 5,000,000 Janet Jackson: 4,500,000 (with the US its possible) OASIS: 3,500,000 (i hope i'm wrong) Anastacia: 3,000,000
