She said that the cover album is ready and she will release it at some point.

Why does that feel like a threat :arrr:

Hey guys long time no post!

I saw Melanie at Big Gay Day in Brisbane which is the festival of LGBT community! She performed with Sink The Pink and I saw them perform back in March this year before things gets cancelled due to COVID19!

Welcome back Megz! Great that you've seen Melanie C live again

Melanie is giving away prizes if you join tune speak.

Only worth doing if you use Spotify, I went through the gag of joining and don’t use Spotify !

Yes but on Youtube both Who i Am and Blame It On Me used to appear as a track from the Album "In And Out Of Love". Weird isn't it?
Melanie’s monthly listeners on Spotify was 770k just a few days ago. Today it’s 814k ☺️

Got to say I’m impressed with Melanie in this era she is taking no prisoners and really giving it her all! ❤️ Let’s hope it somewhat pays off.
In all honesty, bar not having the album available for pre-order when Blame It On Me was peaking, her new management has done a pretty stellar job so far. I can see why she's been talking them up in her recent interviews.

Not having the album up for pre-order when even Who I Am was out, nevermind while Blame it on me was out, was a stupid mistake!

I was more referring to her output though, the songs, the videos, the pop star she is re-peaking again in terms of quality

I have to say. I'm truly loving this singles run. Frankly, the rest of the album could be her gargling mouth wash, and I'd still love the era for this run of singles.

I kinda wish we'd gotten the Melanie C we've had from 2011-2020...during 2001-2010. Could her career have turned out differently? For the past decade, she's been so varied and interesting in her pursuits. She's been smart and likable in all her interviews. She's embraced the Spice Girls. All her performances are excellent and note perfect. If her singles run from 2001-2010 had included Think About It, Loving You, Anymore, and these last four releases...would she have won the commercial success she deserves?

Anyway. I say that but still realize her complete journey has made her who she is now. I admittedly don't follow a lot of other individual former pop group members who haven't been a major force in the charts for more than a decade. But. Really. Is there another former pop group member like that...who only manages to keep getting better as they move more than 15 years from being truly commercially viable?

I think all the girls had a bit of rough time with their solo careers from 2001 despite some great singles (I mean the first 3 Emma Free Me singles were all screaming to be huge hits). Quite a few songs I reckon would have been bigger for other artists, for example had Kelly Clarkson done Next best superstar, or Natalie Imbruglia done Here it comes again, or Duffy done Maybe... With that in mind who knows how well she would have done had she had Think about it, Loving you, Anymore etc back then???

I've often wondered how her career would have gone had she come back with Think about it after Northern Star era and then had The Sea album with follow songs Burn, Stupid Game and Weak as singles

Right. That's my thought too.

I don't dislike Here It Comes Again...and it's definitely grown on me over the years. But I found it rather dull when I first heard it...and was disappointed this was the song she was using to re-emerge after such a long absence. There was nothing to be excited about (though the video, I rather like). To me, Here It Comes Again didn't sound like a comeback single. Think About It does. And, yes, a singles run of TAI, Stupid Game, and Burn could have kept up her history of varied, interesting single choices that she'd pulled off so well in the Northern Star era...instead of...y'know...what we got (going the adult contemporary "respect me, dammit!" route for three albums worth of material)

But anyway. I love who she is now. She leaps from genre to genre...and to me, that was always the best thing about her...the fact she's willing to take on anything, and she'll pull it off.
