Posted January 2, 200817 yr Saw this on New Year's Eve and absolutely loved it. Yes, I had to wear a scarf the entire time, and I'm terrified of getting my haircut, but it was amazing. I don't think it's been released in the UK yet, but once it is I highly reccomend it.
January 2, 200817 yr I really wanna see this, some of the reviews i've read have been v.good too. I watched the TV program on it (on the BBC?) with Ray Winstone and I really liked that. Shall be interesting to see Tim Burton's dark spin on the whole concept of it.
January 13, 200817 yr Just seen this advertised on Ch4 and plan to see it. Opens fully in the UK on 25th with Johnny Depp as the murdering barber who's victims end up in meat pies! :o Trailer here: http://www.imdb.com/video/trailer/me60746838/
January 21, 200817 yr Author Does that mean you have to be 18 to see it? :o It was just R here, meaning you can go in to see it if you're 17+, but if you're younger you can still see it with a parent. Shows has screwed up America is in terms of movie ratings. I mean, I think Sweeney Todd deserved the R rating, but we let some seriously disgusting $h!t get by while god forbid someone show their pen*s/vagina on screen.
January 21, 200817 yr Yep you have to be 18 or above to see it :P I'm going to see it on Thursday :D Cant wait! It looks godly and contains two of my fave actors  <33
January 21, 200817 yr My mum really wanted to see this until she found it was a musical  We saw the trailer in the cinema and she looked positively horrified  Bless her :P As for me, I don't like films like this really, I haven't seen many 18s at all really, but the musical element seems to give it a comical edge so it might be worth it. Besides, I love Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow accent :P
January 21, 200817 yr I'm going to see this, it looks brilliant Johnny Depp can do no wrong- one of the only actual brilliant actors Edited January 21, 200817 yr by EmoKisses
January 21, 200817 yr BAH Iwana see this, I heard Johnny Depp is supposed to be brilliant in it, although the adverts are a bit off-putting as he looks like Jim Carry with the Jack Sparrow accent.
January 22, 200817 yr Grr i wanted to see it really badly but then found out it was an 18! Won't be able to go now cuz i'm only 16, but can't wait till it comes out on dvd! They are doing a stage play of it near my area so might go to that instead cuz i really want to see it!!
January 24, 200817 yr Just got back! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G  Excellent film. Loved it. Its a MUST, i was thinking i wouldnt enjoy it much as i'm not overly fond of musicals. But this was fooking superb.
January 25, 200817 yr I can't wait to see this! Me and my friends from Uni are gonna see it on Monday during out 4 hour lunch, mega excited :D xXx
January 25, 200817 yr I agree with Ryan, I didn't think the fact that it was a musical interefered with the movie at all - I think it really pushed the story forward rather than most movie-musicals where it slows it down for 3 mins at a time. Very well made movie, but I didn't think it needed to be an 18 - a 15 would have sufficed, even with the grotesqueness of the body's falling down the chute and the head exploding
January 26, 200817 yr I saw this excellent film this afternoon - the acting is superb and it was very Tim Burton gothic with the rather unusual spin of a musical element. I must mention Alan Rickman and Timothy Spall as they were excellent too.
January 26, 200817 yr This is SUPERB!! Although it is literally singing from the start ALL the way through the film (Which i got sick of tbh) the acting from the whole cast was just amazing! The boy is an up and coming star and will be in many more films in the near future!
January 29, 200817 yr I'm really tempted to go and see this but the last time I went to the Odeon it was only like 3 or 4 quid, I'm not really a big fan of seeing films where there's other people apart from myself shouting at the screen lol. I am very tempted to sit through it though....It does look good.
