Hailing from down under and out on 10th March.

Her voice is amazing, imo and yet another Winehouse soundalike. Excellent song though :D

It's not bad and has currently entered my Personal Top40.

But as the underwhelming review of Duffy's album in the Word pointed out, like when all the identikit watered down versions of the seminal indie band The Libertines came out, none of the wannabes/soundalikes/copyists had/have the real depth, excitement, magic & darkness of the original source of inspiration.

Fair point - I would consider Amy Winehouse to be a cut above still. Although, Duffy so far is pretty close!

If any of you lazybugs stayed home yesterday and watched This Morning, you wouldve seen this girl perform at the end. She has already been critically praised and the Brits have said that she is the one to watch in 08. And she is said to be the next Amy Winehouse. She is only 16 years old and her first single is called "Sweet About Me", and her debut album - Lessons To Be Learned, is released on March 10th. here's her first single:

btw some of you may have already heard her music as she sings the theme tune to Echo Beach

She has a really good voice and with Xenomania on her side her album should be really good.
I love her voice. It should get decent support from radio in a few weeks. This song sounds like a very light B-side to an Amy Winehouse single. It's good innit!

Actually i prefer her voice to Duffy's - there's just something that annoys me about Duffy's voice (she no Dusty either - or Nick Drake  )

Gabriella has a very nice voice

I heard this song on my fave radio station

B)

Not bad, although I feel this merely scratches the surface whereas Amy gets right into the soul her concerns. This is decent enough pop at best.

Saw this for the first time on VH1 the other day. Despite all the comparisons, it feels like there is something a lot more fresh to this, it doesn't sound like throwback-to-the-60s pop...rather, someone that's created her own sound from her inspirations.

i think she has a better voice than [Ms] Duffy

(like [Mr] Duffy's voice tho)

Duffy's voice is stronger and more "precise" :)

is that Mr or Ms duffy

What are you on about? Alin quite clearly means Duffy, singer of Mercy.

of course I mean Duffy the Welsh singer :P

Debuts at #13 on the Oz singles chart. Great! :D And hopefully it can climb. Bodes well for the album there too.
I actually really like this... i think i prefer her to adelle/ duffy/ and amy actually.... something i really like about her.

Has anyone picked up the album? There's not much buzz around her but it's top 30 in the midweeks which I don't think is too bad.
