Posted May 23, 200619 yr Gnarls Barkley looking for ninth week at one Source: Music Week Gnarls Barkley's Crazy looks on course to join one of the UK singles chart's most exclusive clubs as it heads for a ninth week at number one. Retail reports suggests the Warner Bros release will extend its two-month run at the top of the chart this weekend, placing it equal seventh for the longest run at number one in the 53-year history of the chart. It is already the longest run at one since Wet Wet Wet's 15-week reign in 1994 with Love Is All Around. Five singles which last week charted on download sales alone are likely to move into the Top 10 following their physical debuts, led by RCA's Sandi Thom with I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker. Expected to join her in the top five are Columbia's Primal Scream who are looking to beat their previous highest singles chart position of seven achieved by Rocks/Funky Jam in 1994 with Country Girl. Mercury's Matt Willis with Up All Night, B Unique/Polydor's Ordinary Boys and Lady Sovereign pairing Nine2Five and Island-signed The Feeling with Fill My Little World are also heading for Top 10 places. Meanwhile, Ebul/Jive-signed Daz Sampson's disappointing 19th place at last Saturday's Eurovision Song Contest does not appear to be hampering the progress of Teenage Life which is also likely to be into the Top 10 at the weekend. Other big chart climbers are likely to include 14th Floor's Nerina Pallot, while new entries are expected from RCA's Pink, Sony BMG's Michael Jackson and V2's Little Man Tate. Warner Bros' Red Hot Chili Peppers will be looking for a third week at number one on the artist albums chart with Stadium Arcadium, while being joined in the Top 10 by new entries from Island's Angels & Airwaves, Atlantic's Zero 7 and Parlophone's Pet Shop Boys. Others lining up for arrivals outside the Top 10 include Mercury-signed Boy Kill Boy, Ministry of Sound's V, EMI's Hot Chip and veteran Mercury act Def Leppard. ========================================================== Summary Singles 01 Gnarls Barkley - Crazy 02 Sandi Thom - I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker [CLIMBER] Top 5 Primal Scream - Country Boy [CLIMBER] Daz Sampson - Teenage Love Top 10 Matt Willis - Up All Night [CLIMBER] Ordinary Boys vs. Lady Sovereign - Nine2Five [CLIMBER] The Feeling - Fill My Little World [CLIMBER] Top 15 Nerina Pallot - Everybody's Gone To War [CLIMBER] Top 20 Michael Jackson - Heal The World [NEW ENTRY] Pink - Who Knew? May 23, 200619 yr Well disappointed for the Futureheads - they should be top 10 with the first single off a new album...maybe their less jerky sound aint so popular with the old fans. I'd love to see the Primals get number one but they won't now. Neither Primal Scream or Sandi Thom will get a huge share of the weekend singles buyers...it'll probably keep Infernal at number 2 too :( I'm pleasantly surprised by Robbie Williams being down there.
