I'm just watching 'Flava' which is the R&B/Garage channel that has replaced B4 and they are doing an hour of UK garage...at the moment they are playing Rosie Gaines' Closer Than Close. Was she not from America? Anyway I was trying to compile a list of all garage hits that have reached the UK top 20...so feel free to add to the list

Mis-Teeq-Why/All I Want

Shanks & Bigfoot/Doolally-Sweet Like Chocolate/Sing a long/Straight From The Heart

Oxide & Neutrino-No Good 4 Me/Bound 4 Da Reload

So Solid Crew-21 Seconds/They Don't Know

H 'Two' O feat Platnum-What's It Gonna Be

MJ Cole-Sincere/Crazy Love

T2-Heartbroken

DJ Pied Piper-Do You Really Like It?

Ladies First-I Can't Wait

Artful Dodger-Rewind/Woman Trouble

DJ Luck & MC Neat-Little Bit Of Luck

I know a lot of these artists had other singles but I'm not sure for example you could call 'Scandalous' by Mis-Teeq garage...

Marvelous tracks on that list, when the UK garage first emeged in 1997/98, to me that was the best era for UK garage (before it was known as 2-step, than bassline or whatever).

Kristine Blone - Loveshy is a wicked track! The Tuff Jam mix of that is belter (just avoid all the other mixes, they are terrible). MJ Cole 'Sincere' is another timely classic and still sounds like nothing else and the Armand Van Helden mix of 'Spin Spin Sugar' is....

Another one to add would be Wookie 'Battle', in similar vain to MJ Cole's 'Sincere' and was a top ten hit if I remember rightly. Also, not as big but equally as good, Jill Scott 'Gettin' In The Way (MJ Cole Mix)'.

Oh yeah, I was meant to put that Wookie track, dunno why I went with another one

For me the garage years were 97-00. Early 01 was still good with stuff like "Think About Me" and "Sambuca", but it went downhill fast after So Solid Crew released 21 seconds and everything went grimey

Forgot about those ones...all great tracks

ARGH! I HATE So Solid POO!!!

Well, 'Oh No (Sentimal Things)' was alright...

I think we will be adding Wideboys and Shaznay Lewis to this list pretty soon
But i think the revival might run out of control and run out of steam by next year

Yeah, i think garage will go out of fashion very soon.
Yeah. It'll burn out before the summer is over, I'm sure it'll be back under a new guise in 2015...

I wrote down the chart every week from June 1999-November 2004 and have a photographic memory for chart peaks between those times :heehee:
Jesus christ that was a shocking top twenty! Only Moloko, All Saints and - of course - N+G I rate on that list!

M2M, N+G and Precious should have been in the top ten in place of the dreadul Madonna and Geri Halliwell songs and ATB's worst single
i love Killer, the UK version. Perhaps Blink 182 out of the top10 too. I'd have put Savage Garden in the top10 rather than N+G though
