April 1, 200817 yr Wheres Shameless & Skins! :o :( Like you said it is acually a pretty boring chart! No wonder no body posts the ratings! lol
April 2, 200817 yr Author Wat was Hollyoaks' Highest ratings this week? Hollyoaks John got 2.30million for the highest episode last week, regularly it gets the whole week`s episodes all in Channel 4`s top 15. Imagine if it was shown on ITV it would clock up 3 times as much, pretty good going.

April 2, 200817 yr It makes me think reading the current ratings. What utter boring c**p there indeed is on tv today. On mentioning sitcoms and the old ones mentioned when most of them had over 15 million viewers when originally shown, I wonder how many viewers would watch if thee were repeated on BBC1 or ITV today. A hell of a lot I would imagine. I must admit I can`t stand the endless repeats of Only Fools and Horses, like UK Gold pump out. Honestly I think that show is so overated, and no better than the ones mentioned by you, Dave! Being controversial, I think David Jason isn`t such a good actor anyway. It was pretty much down to Ronnie Barker for David Jason`s success. His ability to do other characters, beyond Del Trotter is not that good. I remember Jason in a Sharp Intake of Breath, which summed him up...a poor version of Michael Crawford. I wonder why UK Gold no longer actually shows any sitcoms older than 15 years.

The case is Brian, that Only Fools first series, actually flopped, but the BBC carried on with it. In the end it was run in to the ground, and the hype (that people apparently follow), may have given it the success that followed. I never did think it was that good, infact most of it was nicked from John Sullivan`s other comedy "Citizen Smith", with a touch of Minder thrown in. I more enjoy family sitcoms, that are timeless, like Bless This House, No Place Like Home. Another 80s sitcom I loathed was Brush Strokes, Karl Howlman really got my goat!!! Funnily enough Karl replaced Robert Lyndsey`s character in Thames TV`s Get Some In, (a rather similar character). Edited April 2, 200817 yr by davetaylor
April 2, 200817 yr Ouch, that's quite the fall for Bionic Woman from 1.4m last week. :( I don't understand why though - it's so good!
April 2, 200817 yr The Apprentice got 6.4 million, and that was overnights, so officials would be even more
April 2, 200817 yr Author Ouch, that's quite the fall for Bionic Woman from 1.4m last week. :( I don't understand why though - it's so good! The fall of Bionic Woman, was largely because (even Stateside), fans of the original 70s series with Lindsay Wagner were thinking that, the new series would be like the original. It is nothing like it, and is only connected by the name Jamie Sommers. I think it may have faired better in the States, had they not based it on the original series. Really they could have used a different title (one suggested over there was Electro-Woman). Then, they should have used a completely different name for the character too. The first episode, was one of the biggest ratings ever scored by ITV2.

Nothing beats the originals, Dad's Army, Are You Been Served? and The Good Life are rated very heavily, and firm favourites of mine. Anything with Sid James I completely loved.
April 3, 200817 yr Haha at Id Do Anything. People are already getting tired of these things, and what is "Lewis"? It got to 9th place but ive never heard of it. I can't believe Dancing On Ice is doing so well also
April 3, 200817 yr 24 I`D DO ANYTHING 5.66 26 ANTIQUES ROAD SHOW 5.40 :rofl::rofl: I just find it funny that I'd Do Anything got less than 200K more than Antiques Roadshow.
April 3, 200817 yr Last night... BBC1 9.00pm - The Apprentice 6.3m/26% 10.00pm - BBC News 5.5m/26% BBC2 10.00pm - The Apprentice: You're Fired 2.6m/12% ITV1 9.00pm - Rock Rivals 2m/8% 10.00pm - News at Ten 1.7m/8% Channel 4 9.00pm - Grand Designs 3.1m/13% Five 9.00pm - Extraordinary People 2.5m/10% BBC4 9.00pm - Hughie Green, Yours Sincerely 0.8m/3.9% multichannel share Sky Sports 2 7.45pm - Champions' League Live 2.3m (match coverage) Terrible night for ITV1 last night. I have deserted 'Rock Rivals' though now. :( 'The Apprentice' is just so gripping! Awful for 'News at Ten' too... that's the biggest gap between that and the BBC's news since it relaunched by far. :o
