Where there is more than one track per weeks at number 1, I have tried to rank them by chart run and sales (although I may have the 4 weekers a bit wrong). Note that there were no number 1s over 3 weeks in 2000, and that we have yet to get a 8 weeker this century!

thanks for compiling Jester, that's very interesting :D so many songs have stalled at four weeks this decade!
Bob the Builder was 3 weeks at No.1 in 2000, I know it carried over to the following year but it still counts as a No.1 of 2000, doesn't it?

It was number 1 for 3 weeks only :D

Maybe the 8 weeker will come this year :heehee:

It be funny all the #1s this year end up been stuck at #1 for 5 weeks, Estelle is looking most likely now.

11 #1s this year

that would be really funny if Estelle hold on the 1st place for 5 weeks now  We'll see..

Yep, Sam Sparro won't climb enough so she will definitely get a 4th week...probably fifth, hopefully not more than that, its not that good

not sure what the next number one will be...perhaps Madonna

Last Shadow Puppets maybe?

Hopefully - but I still think it will be Sam Sparro.

Estelle was on Jools Holland last Friday, that should gave the track more promotion, and Black Kids at least top 10 next week, which could go even top 5

I think some artists that appear on Jools show will get some good promotion out of it, if they have singles releasing in the same week.

Last Shadow Puppets maybe?

could be actually, I can see that going at least top 3...

Thanks Matt! Good job useful information!

Yes, I forgot Eric Prydz :o

Wasn't it a crappy song by Robbie Williams that knocked Prydz off No 1 after three weeks, before Prydz regained the top spot for another two weeks?
