Slow start, but it improved as it went, a better episode than last week's, I did notice the dark guy was in the 2 parter of last year's with Michelle Collins in the same Ood episode funny that.

The ending of the episode left a clue, the song wil end for the Dr. Rating 7/10

And Catherine Tate is becoming annoying, I hope the assistant will get another re-cast for the next series.

Martha next week. :o :yahoo: :w00t:

What a terrible episode  Ive been v v v dissapointed this series with the acting, and the sets are really p***ing me off, SO BLATENTLY FAKE AND COMPUTERIFIED!

Im uber annoyed this series, lets hope Martha brings some quality back with her

I loved this episode! The Ood are amazing!

Cant wait for next weeks though Martha :cheer:

So, the disappearing bees are this series Bad Wolf/Torchwood/Saxon?

Not a bad episode, just an average Dr Who episode really.

6/10

Easily the best of the three episodes so far.

The big theme of this episode was clearly a swipe at colonialism and the exploitation of slave labour.

Something that the Great British Empire was built upon in the 18th & 19th Century. Which has been used by the Nazi Germany & Japan during the 1930s/40s; but more relevantly the Soviet Union & People's Republic of China for the best part of a century, hence the Gulag style imagery in this episode.

Yet I could imagine children being held spellbound by tonight's episode.

A brilliant cameo by Tim McIlnnery (Darling from the Blackadder franchise) & two other Stars Wars related actors had key parts in tonight's episode.

Whilst this episode was helped no end by the fact it actually did not take place on Planet Earth. :yahoo:

But (I think this is going to become my catchphrase for Series 4 ) Catherine Tate is really spoiling this show for me, she is the most annoying assistant since Bonnie Langford; and easily the worst of the three assistants so far of the 21st Century revived franchise.

By the way what was that beautiful music used as the Oods' Freedom Song?

I actually agree, Catherine Tate IS the worst assistant yet - but then I absloutely loved Rose and I didn't watch much of Martha.

This episode for me was a vast improvement on last week, and better than the first one too imo. I loved that it was actually all a very real concept, repressed slaves revolting against their captors - that could well happen a few thousand years down the line. I did see a few of Catherine's characters come out today though :( Overall, a very nice watch ^_^

Intrigued at the end by the Ood saying the Doctor's song will end soon :o

Could it really be what I'm thinking

Well we have 3 confirmed specials next year, and another series in 2010. So his song is going to last at least another 2 years :P

doesn't mean he's in them :P He hasn't been seen filming on the Xmas set yet has he? I've only seen the photos of the

Cybermen in the snow covered graveyard

This episode was an improvement on last week's muddled script, the story worked well and it was great to understand the Ood, even though I wasn't too sure what was going on. What I mean is, because we didn't see much of the Ood in the series 2 story I felt there was too much trying to get too much information into a one off episode...if that makes sense!!!!

I love the episodes where the ending, the defeating of the baddie isn't just them dying or being blown up, the fact that teh Mr Halpen was turned into a creature was really nice, and it was a strong ending.

Tim McInenney (I think thats how his name's spelt...oops!!) was a great villain and this was the strongest story so far in that the first episode was more of a lighthearted story and last week's script was slightly confused.

Though, and this is where I have a bit of a rant (sorry!!) but Catherine Tate's performance in tonight's episode was fantastic, especially where she was in the Ood cage with the Doctor. Fair enough, the opening of the episode she was being a bit comedy/over-the-top performance but I thought this was her strongest performance so far.

Until I watch the episode again tomorrow, I 'll give it 8/10

It was quite easily the worst for me. Not a patch on last week and certainly not touching the first week, but then I always did prefer the episodes set in modern-day London, without the need for gimmicky futuristic sets.

And Tim McInnery as the 'villain' character was absolutely terrible; a weird cross of ruthless and weak, he came across as pathetic, but not in the hateable-villain sense; just in the emotionless sense. Not scary, not mean enough to stir any emotion...awful.

As an episode, 3/10.
