apart from David there seems little support for the UKs best singer right now. returning to No 1 in singles and a debut No 1 in albums in the US is no mean feat (even if they are selling the album cheap (unsubstanstianted)). No2 in UK after 23 weeks says lot. why the haters when we have such a talant ? we should be supporting her? Leona is a phenominal singer, espescially live and if we can't see that over here, we have to hand it to our US friends as they obviously can !!

I don't really follow US charts, hopefully someone else can help you out.

They should ban reduced priced albums from the chart, talk about an un-level playing field.

Don't get me wrong, I love Leona's album but I really wanted Mariah to be #2 this week. It's not that I don't like Leona, it's just that I would have rather seen someone else in her position this week, she could have taken the #2 next week or something.

The last to do it was Phil Collins, no idea who the last to do it on debut was.

She had not only the hype of being the 1st female US #1 in decades but also Spirit was priced at £5 in some stores.

Yes, saw it for £5 in Asda yesterday.

:yahoo: for Scooter - Top 130 in Wednesdays or thursdays mids but Top 50 in the end! :w00t: :yahoo:

Isnt Asda the only place actually selling it for a £5 at the moment?? And isnt it only on for about a week?
I think Mariah will spend more time in the top end of the albums then the Kooks. I expect they and Leona (if her album price is going back to normal) will drop way down and Mariah will still hover in the top 3 - maybe even move up to #2 :naughty: fingers crossed.
second worst No.1 single this year

That's due to duetting with Dustbin Timberlake

LOLLLLLLLL at Leona beating Mariah in the albums on her 23rd week!!!

75 N 1 Brit & Alex Let It Go

Good stuff there too. :w00t:

lol at mariah beating leona in the usa knocking her down from no1 :D

Asda sales are not much compared to the whole chart, and I wish people would stop saying 'some stores' when its just one, for a week only.

Even if you dont like Leona, shes done magnificently and its also great to have a UK act doing so well over in the states.

That's awesome for Madonna. and that's also awesome for Jordin and Usher.

Mariah debuted a lot higher on the album chart than I expected ^_^

Yes, that was to be expected with how big of a star she is but this is Leona's 23rd week against Mariah's first! Definitely wasn't expected.

And Leonas cracked America in what under 7 months??? Its still a great achievement for an English Artist (From a TALENT SHOW) Im happy for Leona and glad shes beat Mariah in the Albums chart over here! But US was expected though TBH, because Mariah is huge over there and Leonas Huge over here! so...
