May 11, 200817 yr I hope they do a Madonna! and dont sell as well as people think! (Oh how i dream)
May 11, 200817 yr So would I - bloody Daily Mail! The signs do seem to point that way though :( I rather pay £10 for it, newspaper sales don't do nothing for the record industry.
May 11, 200817 yr 450,000 copies, waste of money though if you ask me, if you have one Coldplay album you have them all. In other words, Coldplay SUCK.
May 12, 200817 yr I love how their one week sales sometimes are bigger then yearly sales of many pop divas
May 12, 200817 yr I don't like this 'free CD with newspaper' nonsense. They think they are being revolutionry, but all they are doing is f***ing up the industry even more. Why can't things go back to how they were in the 90's   back in the good old days :P I don't think it will sell as many in the first week as X&Y. I think it will still sell loads more then the usual #1 though. 300k? I dunno. The promotion so far has been as bit messy, it's certainly confused me. Free download, then free on NME then physical. Edited May 12, 200817 yr by Glyn
May 12, 200817 yr I think this will be the biggest and fastest seller of the year! Not necessarily - if Dido *finally* releases her 3rd album, this year... Edited May 12, 200817 yr by vidcapper
May 13, 200817 yr I would guess no more than 250k, simply because album sales have gone down significantly recently.
May 13, 200817 yr Not necessarily - if Dido *finally* releases her 3rd album, this year... Agreed. Coldplay or Dido for year's best-seller thus denying Duffy.
May 13, 200817 yr I so hope not - that would be such a corporate sell out. People on other forums think they mean a huge iconic old album though, maybe Sgt. Pepper. Can't see it being Coldplay.
May 13, 200817 yr People on other forums think they mean a huge iconic old album though, maybe Sgt. Pepper. Can't see it being Coldplay. I really hope so! I do know the new album is released on 12 June though (midweek release!)
