i'm also a bit surprised that Amy's "frank deluxe" isn't doing better. obviously i don't live in the UK so i don't know the level of promo (probably low based on comments) but you'd think after it being on the charts the past year and a half and her continued success and tabloid coverage...

There's no promo at all as far as I'm aware and there doesn't need to be IMO.

The only promotion she is receiving is the usual media coverage of her personal problems.

Is anyone else as surprised as me about Neil Diamond's album looking like it will be No.1 now? I'm gobsmacked. I mean his last one, 12 Songs, only reached No.5 in 2006. Any reason why this is doing so well? He was on GMTV earlier in the week.

He's doing concerts here in the UK and despite selling over 140 million in his career so far, he's only just had his first ever no1 album in America this week, no doubt helped by his performance on American Idol last week.

Yeah was reading about him having his first ever US No.1 album. Unbelievable that he's never had one before actually.

Yay Ting Tings still no.! :cheer:

DCFC keep falling so much in the albums

Go ting tings. Hope will.i.am and cheryl can stick at 4.

Am hoping tangled up may possibly sneak back in the top 40 after doing two nights at the O2 this weekend

Personally i think the lead at the top should have been reduced, cos on weds when they increased it..that was the time when combined they were level with Rihanna on iTunes (hence the physical pushed them in front), but since then they have fallen away abit and are now 4 bars behind when combined (and falling)

...but Ting Tings have reduced the price of their CD single to 99p - in HMV at least

don't really matter...it wont change most people's mind! look at American Boy, that was HUGE but at 99p, the physical still hardly shifted anything!

i also doubt that they changed it....HMV probably did cos although they are in top 2 on iTunes...they probably aren't selling much at all physically! tbh this probably the truth hence why Rihanna is still so close!

It'd be intresting to see how close Rihanna is to The Ting Tings. I should imagine it'll be very close on Sunday's chart :o
exactly their even less likely to shift the physical..hence Rihanna being so close! tbh i still believe they will finish at no.1 but it will be extremely close come Sunday.

I think it will probably go to the wire (hope we get some sales later). What I was saying is that Ting Tings are doing everything they can to defend their #1.

Have we accounted for the fact that they are #2 AND #35 on iTunes?

I'd quite like to see The Ting Tings #01 this week, then Rihanna the next. It's be nice to see a shorter stay at #01 anyway. The 4/5 week #01's are getting boring :(

You mean HMV are trying to shift them....artists don't suddenly come along and say reduce my single, midweek! The stores choose what price to sell them at, not the artists, they have already been paid for the stock! It seems to me like they are not flying off the shelves.

And yes we have accounted them at no.2 and 34 (now), hence us saying combined!
