I just hope Ting Tings hang on... to be honest I prefer a new British band at #1 and it be great for the indie genre at the moment, at least its nice and fresh at the top, Rihanna has had her limelight last year with Umbrella, personally her new single is cr@p

I don't understand what's going wrong with Ne-Yo :o it seemed to take off quickly on iTunes and now its falling again quite rapidly

Simple... it's because it's c**p

Agree with 80's pop kid re Madonna and Corinne Baily Rae being the last time 2 new entries were at number 1 & 2. This occured on Feb 26th 2006.

Have now heard the Ting Tings and its not as bad as I had feared. Rihanna should be number 1 though.

But didn't Chico and Pussycat Dolls enter the top 2 the week after as new entries?

I've just been reading all these reports about 'Do the Ayatollah' by Cardiff's fans expected to hit the top 10 based on pre-sales from a couple of weeks ago. Now I see they're nowhere near the top 100. Looks like the Cardiff branch of HMV's gonna have a lot of singles to shift through the bargain bin....
Popjustice are reporting Chanelle to be #62...

This is nearer to what I was expecting

I predicted that she'd miss the top 75. I'm kind of glad that she has reached the top 75 if this is true. Her single isn't anywhere near as bad as I expected it to be. I think the song sounds a bit like it could be by Britney.

I'm not sure what's going on with this one. It charted at #3 in the indie chart on Sunday, which means it was released a week early but is only showing in the mids this week as a rather lowly new entry.

The indie chart is definitely physical only so this is all a bit weird!

More recently, I've got:

1 McFly - Star Girl

2 Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit

This is from chartstats.co.uk though.

Can anyone check this, as I don't recall Fedde entering at #2?

He definitely entered at two and then moved up to 1. :)

Ah, it's probably cos techincally it was a re-entry at #2. It charted as a 12-inch only a couple of months earlier for two weeks.

If a "re-entry" is allowed then this is the last time there were entries at #1 and #2 in the same week. If not, it's Chico and Pussycat Dolls

I do have top 200 for today now, but I will update later on this evening. Once I rest a bit and eaten something.
It's interesting to see that the top 5 albums are way ahead of the rest.

That week Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Oooh' was also a new entry at No.3 no?
