Hardly worth the hype. Nowhere near as good as any of their other albums.

You can tell that already? Oh my, how farsighted of you.

Uh oh, I am getting in to defensive Coldplay mode - this got me into trouble on Coolclarity when X&Y was released  :(

Have listened 4 times to it so don't really get your meaning. You talked as if I'd never even heard it!

I am surprised you can judge so quickly and make such a sweeping statement. It takes me years sometimes to judge and appreciate an album properly, and especially compare it against other albums I have been listening to for years :/

You can't really judge an album after a just a few hours, you need to appreciate the true value of the music and the lyrics.
Well so far only the two singes jump out at me as good.

Maybe give it more of a chance before deciding how good (or bad) it is - it is only natural to prefer older albums as you have listened to them alot more...

On first impressions, it is a great album and stands proud amoungst the other albums - time will tell if its better for me than X&Y though.

I agree Jester and Mart!n. When X&Y came out in 2005 it was my #3 album of the year. I'm still playing it regularly and more often than my #1 and #2. It took me many months to get into A Message and Low and now they are two of my favourite Coldplay songs. Sometimes I don't like What If, but then another day I love it. The Parachutes album sounds as fresh as when I first bought it. So Coldplay music takes a long time to fully appreciate it. That is why they are the best band today (and in my opinion the best band ever).

I think its one of the best rock albums of recent years.

Jester, seriously dont worry about the people who dont like this album, not everyone can and its quite obviously amazing.

I wanted Woolies free Pigeon Detective download (different to the one advertised here) and it asked me for a promotional code...

Why can't woolies download site just be like iTunes where you click buy, it asks you for your password (or after the shopping basket) and it downloads???

It will probably go up to £7.97 after the 5,000th customer i'd imagine!!!
