Posted June 13, 200817 yr Which one do you think is better? Family Guy or The Simpsons? To me, they are both very similar, but i prefer Family Guy as they get away with so much more but sometimes i dont understand some of the jokes... Mainly cos of most of the celebrities they take the p*** out of are unknown now... (or to me anyway :P)

June 14, 200817 yr "Family Guy".... The Simpsons has gone on for FAR too long now and has been steadilly decreasing in quality... Frankly, the show's pretty dire now, I actually preferred "Futurama" in a lot of ways, the "Futurama" film was certainly better than The Simpsons one IMHO... And, I dont agree with Rob that FG is a "rip off", the way FG works is far more adult-oriented in its humour and surreal than The Simpsons could ever dream of being, with lots of truly bizarre and obscure cultural references.. It's a bit like saying "Peep Show" is a rip off of "Men Behaving Badly" or "Green Wing" is a rip off of "Only When I Laugh"...
June 14, 200817 yr My vote seperated it :o Family Guy because Stewie and Brian are quite possibly the greatest cartoon characters EVER! Stewie is enough of a reason alone to say Family Guy is better than The Simpsons. But i cant knock the Simpsons though because if it wasnt for The Simpsons being so popular then we probably wouldnt have Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad etc...
June 14, 200817 yr Family Guy. A show has never made me LOL as much as that show, just for the few times I've been rolling around in laughter it wins tbh. It can be a bit sketchy sometimes, but it's so random and intelligent at the same time and The Simpsons, whilst good, has been basically unwatched by me since I discovered Family Guy :lol:
June 14, 200817 yr Simpsons. It USE to be really funny, like split moments back in like series 1 -> 4 would make me laugh, nowdays not so much, and the film was pretty boring, but overall it's one of my favourite tv shows, ever. :lol: I've never really got into Family Guy either.
June 14, 200817 yr Ooooooooooooooooooooh this is a toughy! The poll should be Classic Simpsons Vs New Family Guy. New Simpsons makes no sense at all and old Family Guy (season 1) wasn't that great. I'm going to choose Family Guy because I'm starting to love it more than the Simpsons :cry: Family Guy has more of an adult humour. I wouldn't say it's a copy of the Simpsons because if you watch them both they are completely different. The only thing both cartoons have are a fat stupid dad/husband.
