Straight out of Nefyn, North Wales, (Aimee Anne) Duffy's smoky retro-soul has earned her comparisons with blue-eyed soul legend, Dusty Springfield. Voted the second hottest new talent in the BBC's 'Sound for 2008' poll after fellow soul girl Adele, her debut album ROCKFERRY features Bernard Butler (Suede, McAlmont & Butler) as performer and co-writer. - HMV

They haven't mentioned Sara in the 'contenders' I hope this doesn't mean she hasn't gone top 5 like she was in the midweeks. :(

That Mint song should be #1 again, shouldn't it.

Yeah, should be - was a fair bit ahead of Rihanna on Friday.

I think it probably does mean that...

That's a shame. But on the other hand I really like the song from Gabriella Cilmi, just not as much. I'm happy that at least one has gone top 5 I guess. ^_^

For god sake, stop goin gon about George fricking Sampson, he danced to the record, that was all, stop keep going on and reading texts from hormonally challenged teenagers who see music as a means of judging people by their 'fitness' rather than their musical credibility, god its like listening to a dumbed down version of the Hit 40 UK chart

Rant over

Have to say the Chris Brown record sounds good on the radio, obviously not a patch on 'Closer', but I'm now thinking:

5 - The Ting Tings

4 - Sara Barielles

3 - Ne-Yo

2 - Rihanna

1 - Mint Royale *I have my fingers crossed*

They mentioned Gabriella as a contender last week and it was #7 though, so don't count your creme eggs before they have hatched...

Where was anyone talking about George Sampson on this topic?

Should be, unless Fearne goofs up

I was hoping for Top 5, but #6 is still fantastic.

Ah, Sara is top 5. That's good. ^_^ Both songs deserve to be there, but I think Sara just edges it.

I think he meant Fearne and Reggie...

He is referring to the radio show that most of us are listening to - which is the whole point of the thread.

This was a top 3 radio hit for '07 American Idol winner but it is probaly a hit in the UK because of Chris Brown guess appearence on the record.
