Posted September 1, 200816 yr The Monday preview of the week`s charts, here again. Trevs is a bit off colour today, due to his own doings...So, I am going to carry the thread. Actually as he went to the doctor`s today, I actually found it rather funny to hear, that the doctor said to him "Do you feel dizzy passing water". Now Trevs is always rather confusing, on replies..and said "I do when I walk pass the river"!! Yeah, think about it :D Anyway with Peter Jay, and John McManus` help here is what we came up with, from info from stores of HMV, and the usual visits to Zavvi, Woolies, Smiths, Sainsbury, Tesco, and Asda..as well as download sites. I am one of the few, that can`t stand the man?! Right at the bottom of the top 70 lurks "Triumph", and also "Destiny". Which are old LPs re-cut. Also at the bottom is Andrew Johnston - You Are Not Alone. Blancmange have a trio of re-cuts out...I love Blancmange (especially chocolate flavour)! ^_^ No, but Blancmange, a great 80s band. "Mange Tout" is their biggest re-cut this week in the top 50. Clannad, and also David Sanborn also enter the top 100. Higher up the top 40, goes Alphabeat. Roots Manuva enters at 42, New Kids at 43, and Esbjorn Svenson at 41. Brett Anderson enters too, and there is also another Rock N` Roll various comp, in the 50. Pussycat Dolls the next number one, I reckon. The pre-orders push them passed Will Young today. Not much else going on, outside that 40, apart from Chicane/Natasha Bedingfield just outside the 40, at 42. Colbie is still snooking up a bit, and Sonny J, and Flo Rida`s "In The Ayer". Enough said on Michael Jackson, as Thriller mix gets a top 60 place. Time to look back to 1995: 01 03 YOU ARE NOT ALONE - MICHAEL JACKSON 02 05 I`LL BE THERE FOR YOU - REMBRANTS 03 01 COUNTRY HOUSE - BLUR 04 04 SUNSHINE AFTER THE RAIN - BERRI 05 37 I FEEL LOVE - DONNA SUMMER 06 10 WATERFALLS - TLC 07 08 I LUV YOU BABY - ORIGINAL 08 36 POUR QUE TU M`AIMES ENCORE - CELINE DION 09 NE STAYIN` ALIVE - N. In 95, Trevs compiled this chart, and at that point also included pre-orders of not yet released hits, in a forerunner too the Fresh Hits Chart, that I do. Simply Red, Mariah, and Vanessa Williams were all new releases. Any road up, he got 7 in the 10, 17 in the 20, 23 in the 30, and 33 in the top 40. Of course we had the fight between Blur, and Oasis just 2 weeks before this..and had Take That beat them both, on his chart! But of course, Blur beat Oasis. There was this re-hash of "Living Next Door To Alice", with Smokie, Chubby Brown, and this Gompie Euro lot. In all..both were absolute rubbish. Even the 1976 version by Smokie was not the original, of a song that originally appeared a few years before...100 points for anyone who comes up with the Original artistes to record "Alice". The late Aaliyah had a small hit then. Given a push, I would say it could have done slightly better. Look out for Marti boy, and his mids tomorrow, and I`m sure everybody wants to know how Trevs did last Monday..Well in the singles he had 10 in the top 10, 18 in the 20, 28 in the 30, and 38 in the 40. On the album front he had 8 in the 10, 17 in the 20, and 24 in the 30.
