So far there is no official release date for Love Lockdown "It was written by West in less than ten days before being world premiered live by West as the 'explosive' finale of the 2008 MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 7, 2008. West has cited the track as his "favorite to date", saying "go where your heart takes you." The song marks a drastic change for West, standing as his first solo single to feature no rapping, instead sung using the vocal effect of Auto-Tune" OFFICIAL VIDEO: hXBqfEwydx8 Well it's certainly different. I really like it! :o
September 14, 200816 yr Mmm I love Kanye West, but this isn't him at his best. This song could have been sung by anyone really, and I think this song will maybe alienate his core fanbase. Saying that though, I think this song has mass appeal. It's the sort of song that could attract a whole new fanbase to him, as it's different to everything else that he's released thus far. I still expect there to be a more cut version of Love Lockdown, when it's offically sent to radio and stuff like that. I still say Love Lockdown = Kanye West meets Hellogoodbye though.

September 16, 200816 yr Not quite - the final version has slightly different verses and a stronger chorus. Still very similar though. I really like it.

I think the new version is quite a lot different to the demo. Definitely sounds 10x better, and the vocal effects are still really good. Still feels weird to listen to Kanye West to stretching his vocal cords though. They played it on Radio 1 earlier, got quite a good reception from the stuff that was read out.
September 26, 200816 yr The album's coming out in November now too. YAYness allround. But, I can't help but feel this is all being a little bit rushed. :( It just seems to me that he wants to $h!t all over 50 Cent again, only without as much press this time, and releasing his record a month earlier too.
September 28, 200816 yr #16 on the charts. Not bad considering it's not a full single just yet. I do think it'll peak there tho.
September 29, 200816 yr It's quite good, but if you didn't know it was Kanye when you heard it on the radio you wouldn't guess it was him.
