September 30, 200816 yr Are you on drugs? Well there's not much variety but its a good video with loads of cameos etc. If you put it on mute
September 30, 200816 yr I would have to disagree with Jack - I think the When I Grow Up video is awful. Just looks so trashy and cheap... :(
October 1, 200816 yr I thought it was good :( So bright and colourful with good production as well as some good dancing in it too. :(
October 1, 200816 yr I thought it was good :( So bright and colourful with good production as well as some good dancing in it too. :( I'm with you, it's not exactly groundbreaking but it shows what they're good at - dancing! The bit on the scarfolding is They are great :P When did music videos stop being good though. I watch these 'Top 100 xx videos of whenever' on the music channels and i've gotta say that music videos from the 80's and 90's weren't much better. There are a couple which are great, just as there is now, but there wasn't a period when all videos were great. Edited October 1, 200816 yr by Glyn
October 1, 200816 yr Madonna's 4 Minutes was a blatant rip of September's Until I Die :kink: That's exaggerated. The only similarity I can find is the clock, nothing else.
October 1, 200816 yr I was having this discussion about music videos the other day and came to the conclusion that the MV no longer provides the benefits that it used to and so budgets are getting smaller and smaller. It’s a shame because I remember the heyday of the music video. Michael Jackson single headedly reinvented the music video format with epic videos for songs like Thriller, Beat it and BAD in the 80s. One of my favourite videos of all time is his ‘Smooth Criminal’ video (there are 2 versions – I don’t like the sped up one). When his video for Black or White came out in the 90s it was broadcast around the world at the same time and was a major event. Even his later videos like ‘Scream’ (with Janet) and Earth Song were impressive. Other artists were putting out incredible videos by then, but Jacko paved the way for them to do so. I have stopped watching music channels almost completely because they just don’t play enough music. I use the radio TV channels instead. I got fed up with constant pointless chart run downs and brainless programmes. I know other people think the same. I just rembered another MV by jacko that impressed me called ‘Ghosts’. I don’t think it’s well known, but the story was written by Stephen King and special effects were by Stan Winston (Jurassic Park, Terminator 2 and 3). Incredible effects that still look great now. Check it out if you haven’t already. The full version is very long (40minutes I think) but there is a shorter version. You can download the Ghosts film for free from this Stephen King website: http://www.stephenkingshortmovies.com/goto...vies/ghosts.php Edited October 1, 200816 yr by bobmoo79
October 1, 200816 yr I always enjoy Will's videos, I think he actually spends a lot of time and effort on them and he's said that he enjoys making them. I agree that some of the best videos are made by the lesser known bands and I've seen some really good ones on Kerrang and MTV2.
October 1, 200816 yr I thought it was good :( So bright and colourful with good production as well as some good dancing in it too. :( I admit the dancing's good, but I still think overall the video looks tacky. But that's just my opinion - I bet loads of people would say videos that I think are great are actually rubbish :P
October 2, 200816 yr cant remember who mentioned ok go's here it goes again. bt tht is the best video in a while
October 2, 200816 yr Katy Perry's Hot 'N' Cold video is excellent. She's going all out to make sure that she's not a one hit wonder  but will she be a two hit wonder a la Eiffel 65 or can she extend her career beyond her initial success like Rihanna did after Pon De Replay?
