Such a shame Laura won't be able to make the final now. I think for me she and Maria Lawson were the 2 contestants that deserved and should have been in final but didn't make it. :D

They are both just amazing singers :)

Unfortunetly i dont think Daniel's going anywhere for at least a few more weeks. Next week will probably be either Rachel or Ruth leaving.
A lot of other bookmakers have opened up a Bar Diana book, because if Diana is unavailable to compete next week due to her Laryngitis then Laura will be reinstated in her place, hence why she is still included on Betfair's odds.

 I hope she will be fine! Well they had her doctor on Xtra Factor last night and he said it is more than likely that she will be performing :cheer: So hopefully *Fingers Crossed*

I'm ecstatic that Laura's gone! Never liked her voice until Yesterday Mariah performance  But I'm just peed off at the fact Daniel and Eoghan are still in compared to her though!

Alexandra FTW and Diana to go home please! :D

If Laura does come back there will be an uproar, she'll get kicked out straight away then the only worthy winner left would be Alexandra [and Ruth but I can't see the public letting her get that far].

Eurgh, why would they reinstate Laura?

If that happens then my viewing of the X Factor will be no longer.

It would be absouletly ridicolous to let Laura back, she'd last a week or so and then get kicked out again.

^ Exactly. And do a double eviction the week after.

It would just bring up the drama like it did when they let Nikki back in the BB house a couple of years back.

Yeah, there have been lots of complaints I've seen on BBC News for Laura to be reinstated, I really hope it doesn't happen! :(

I don't normally do a midweek odds update but sometimes it is worthwhile:

X Factor Outright Winner -

Betfair.com odds 11th November (9th November)

Diana Vickers - 5/4 fav (5/4 fav)

Alexandra Burke - 7/2 (3/1)

Eoghan Quigg - 4/1 (7/1) :puke:

JLS - 7/1 (7/1)

Ruth Lorenzo - 30/1 (28/1)

Rachel Hylton - 55/1 (47/1)

Daniel Evans - 66/1 (100/1)

-------------------------------------

Laura White - 80/1 (200/1)

Same. If they're gonna kick Diana out (which I don't think they would...?) then no way should they put an ejected contestant back in. It would be suicide for the show. They should take note of Big Brother... i'd rather they just had the final as 2 contestants.

It looks pretty certain that one of Dannii's acts will go next week. Hopefully it's Daniel and not Rachel.

I would be disgusted if Laura was allowed back into the show, I really like her but what's the point of the competition if people are just allowed back in? I think the petition people have started is an absolute disgrace.

Might as well just start a petition to make Laura the winner automatically while they're at it. <_<

It looks like if Diana can't sing on Saturday then she may well be replaced by the singer who was eliminated last week. Which I personally think is fair, especially as it is one Cheryl act for another.

Latest update (from a few hours ago):

Diana Vickers - 7/4 (5/4)

Alexandra Burke - 7/2 (7/2)

Eoghan Quigg - 4/1 (4/1)

JLS - 13/2 (7/1)

Ruth Lorenzo - 25/1 (30/1)

Rachel Hylton - 45/1 (55/1)

Daniel Evans - 50/1 (66/1)

-------------------------------------

Laura White - 40/1 (80/1)

On Betfair if you bet on a "non runner" you lose your stake which is why their odds are always slightly more generous than other bookies. The fact that in the past few hours Diana's odds are starting to drift everywhere on Oddschecker whilst Laura's odds have heavily come in so that she is more of a favourite to win X-Factor than either Rachel or Daniel tells its own story.

I would still be surprised if they tried it. Yes, there's a lot of support for Laura, but at the end of the day, people voted for their favourites to be kept in with a chance of winning, not for ex-contestants to come back in and beat them to the winners spot. And it would set such a dangerous precedent. Result that a hot-headed portion of the public don't like? Just stick them back in.

It's also a double standard. Were Kimberley Southwick or Daniel DeBourg given a second chance after Emily was booted out last year for her happy-slapping antics? No. So why start now?

And they should also take note of what happened to Big Brother when they let Nikki back in for the final week in series 7.

The only real problem Diana leaving poses is they're now one vote-off short. But they could overcome that by carrying votes over across two weeks.

To be honest, I'm not convinced Daniel's odds should be that low. The sympathy vote is a powerful tool, and though I may be made to eat my words, I would not be surprised at all to see him end up as Dannii's last act.
I agree, Daniel definatly had a better chance than what is being made out. Why is Laura still there though, i thought Diana was confirmed to be doing it next week.

With X-Factor this evening confirming that Laura will NOT be returning if Diana is unable to perform, and if Diana is still unable to perform (she is still a serious doubt) then the show will go on and end with just 2 not 3 Finalists:

Betfair.com Odds To Win Update (11/11/2008)

Diana Vickers - 2/1 (5/4)

Alexandra Burke - 7/2 (7/2)

Eoghan Quigg - 7/2 (4/1)

JLS - 6/1 (7/1)

Ruth Lorenzo - 25/1 (30/1)

Rachel Hylton - 50/1 (55/1)

Daniel Evans - 66/1 (66/1)

6th Elimination:

Daniel Evans - Evens

Rachel Hylton - 14/5

Ruth Lorenzo - 5/1

Eoghan Quigg - 18/1

Diana Vickers - 22/1

Alexandra Burke - 22/1

JLS - 25/1
