McCain condemned personal attacks on Obama in the debates, there was also a You Tube video or McCain condeming rednecks at a rally that were slagging Obama off, McCain is a decent man, well more so than most politicians

But he appointed the people responsible for those tactics. And he did so knowing full well what they were like having fallen victim to their tactics in the past.

The scariest thing (for me) that I heard on the radio yesterday was a redneck saying he is voting McCain as Obama 'isn't a Christian'. I know the USA is a different kettle of fish from the UK but voting for someone on religious grounds (not even racial grounds) is such a backward step in this day and age.

Does the average US redneck Joe seriously think Obama is a terrorist?!

Some recent elections to compare with:

2004:

Republican Bush Jr 286 Electoral Votes (50.7%)

Democratic Kerry 252 Electoral Votes (48.3%)

2000:

Republican Bush Jr 271 Electoral Votes (47.9%)

Democratic Gore 266 Electoral Votes (48.4%)

1996:

Democratic Clinton 379 Electoral Votes (49.2%)

Republican Dole 159 Electoral Votes (40.7%)

1992:

Democratic Clinton 370 Electoral Votes (43.0%)

Republican Bush Sr 168 Electoral Votes (37.7%)

Independent Perot 0 Electoral Votes (18.9%)

1988:

Republican Bush Sr 426 Electoral Votes (53.4%)

Democratic Dukakis 111 Electoral Votes (45.6%)

1984:

Republican Reagan 525 Electoral Votes (58.8%)

Democratic Mondale 13 Electoral Votes (40.6%)

1980:

Republican Reagan 489 Electoral Votes (50.7%)

Democratic Carter 49 Electoral Votes (41.0%)

I actually feel like staying up and not going to school tomorrow JUST to find out who the next President is.

I would vote for Obama if i could (I do not live in America and i am not 18) as he CLEARLY has the better campaign and he clearly knows what he's talking about. I am only 16 so dont expect me to know 100% what i am talking about but from the basics - Obama.

Electoral Votes From the BBC US Election Night:

McCain - 34

Obama - 88

270 needed to Win.

Can i just say (as much as i support Obama) how BIASED this election can be?

I know TONS of people who "support" Barack Obama for one reason only; hes black. I dont mean to sound racist but i can ask whole group of black people from my Sixth Form and if i ask them who do you want to become President - Barack Obama. Ask them why; "Cos hes black and he supports the african-american community"

While this is true and i agree with it (the supporting the african-american community bit, in fact i think Slavery of black people was a huge part of his campaign i think it was mentioned a few times in one of his speeches), should the fact that he is black stand in the way of people voting? I actually did ask some people why they are supporting Barack Obama and then i asked them about his presidential campaign and they knew absolutely f*** ALL about it.

Bit of a dangerous issue no?

NBC just called Ohio for Obama.

It's all over, folks.

G08AMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really is a landslide... They might as well call Obama president already... Or is it too soon to make assumptions?

Polls are still open in california and the west coast. They can't call a winner until the moment the polls close for ethical reasons.
