P!nk keeps hold of #1 spot for a 5th week in this week's Multichart, but her 500 points lead from last week is severely cut to under 150 points, with Britney rising up 3 places to take hold of #2, passing Sugababes and Girls Aloud in the process. Sugababes virtually have no chance of scoring a #1 now, and it looks unlikely for Girls Aloud aswell. The top 5 is rounded off by The Saturdays, who are likely to have peaked at #5. Leona rose within the top 10, moving from 8-6, but as I said last week, #1 looks unlikely for her aswell.

 

Quite a few big entries this week, Alesha and Beyonce may well both reinforce the big #1 battle in the coming weeks. Also, Razorlight and Christina Milian have entered with very good songs, although both probably won't trouble the top 10. The less said about Geraldine McQueen the better, although I guess some people must be liking it :lol:

I expect Britney could be #1 next week though and I'm not sure if she can last until December 21st (the last Multichart before Christmas) which would be a 9 week run at the top. I guess it's possible but I don't know. It is the only big release I can see before Christmas.

 

I think Sugababes are releasing and while I think it's better than 'Girls', it's not exactly another 'About You Now'. Maybe Robyn could challenge it with 'Dream On', depending on whether it's big in the actual charts as I think that seems to have an effect. Take The Ting Tings for example, "That's Not My Name" and "Shut Up And Let Me Go" were top 10 in the official chart and stayed around and they made #1 here, yet "Be The One" and "Great DJ" weren't big in the official chart and that probably affected them here.

Not sure about the multichart xmas no.1 yet, that Nelly Furtado & James Morrison single could

have a good chance, i haven't heard it yet, but she is a multichart queen.

Although James Morrison isn't quite as successful multichart wise so time will tell.

 

And i suppose we couldn't rule out the obvious re-entry for a well-known xmas song by

a certain other multichart diva.

 

The X-factor winner i think depends a lot on who wins it, and what the song is.
