Nice independant music shops in York though. I hate crowds in York though last Friday :(. York would be amazing at 4.00am when the streets are empty.

for independants you want London, but sadly it's a dying trade :(

He must have the radio on mute

i dont have the radio on at all, the fact they played razorlight is a reason to not turn the thing on, im sitting hear chilling to Art Brut

Does "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" sample the drum bit from "Umbrella" from Rihanna?
Just noticed that. Don't think it does Umbrella is a bit more "metallic"

I've never been to London, the closest is the M5 or Northampton

To be fair, Spiralling is the one really different song, over half of it is the usual Keane sound.

Ewwwww.

Though I've heard 'Losing Love' and that's not too bad either.

I think Kate is a good singer and that this song that shows her vocals shine on this record but the problem I have with her is that her record label make her more and more like a "sex kitten". I hope she control her image more and more in the near future.

Her album definately is more pop-rock esque more along the lines of a Clarkson sound though in places her vocal is very Alanis Morissette-ish.

They've just done some glitzy production on the first two singles to broaden their appeal I guess.

The daughter of a former member of Sri Lankan rebel group the Tamil Tigers, singer/rapper M.I.A. grew up in London where she was schooled on American hip-hop, U.K. club sounds, and world rhythms. With all these sounds in tow, M.I.A. went on to create an infectious, hyperactive, cross-cultural musical hybrid best represented by her ubiquitous 2004 single, "Galang." A stridently political performer (noticeable in everything from her visual art to her music), M.I.A.'s often controversial status as an activist came to a head in 2006 when she was denied a visa and entry into the United States. - HMV
